Batman #23 is the best chapter yet in Zero Year as we experience the moment Bruce becomes the Bat.

 

You think you the story of Batman but Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo are making the origin exciting, gripping and new.

 

We jump right into a violent confrontation between Bruce and the Red Hood Gang. Snyder and Capullo messed with Bruce with cruel, creepy, manipulative methods through the Court of Owls and Joker in their previous arcs. The Red Hood Gang leader sadistically beats Bruce physically and emotionally as he shares the twisted connection between them and the night his parents were murdered. Batman Zero Year inspires a Zero Month of tie-ins this November. Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo are revealing the early days of Bruce Wayne’s transformation to the Dark Knight.

 

Now DC Comics is publishing more Zero Year stories starring the Batman supporting cast. When the Court of Owls unleashed an army of Talons on Gotham City, Batman’s allies rallied to stop the Talons in the Night of the Owls crossover. BATMAN Goes to YEAR ZERO

After the smashing success of The Court of Owls and Death of the Family the Batman creative team is going back in time!

The Dark Knight is going back to basics with a nearly year-long storyline called The Year Zero starting in June 2013 according to the AP. The upcoming Batman arc by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo will focus on the beginning of Bruce Wayne’s crime fighting career in The New 52.

“It’s not ‘let’s redo the origin,'” Snyder clarified. The story will focus on how Bruce Wayne figured out how to be Batman, and what challenges he faced when he first wore the cape and cowl.
