Aaron Taylor-Johnson is in talks to play Quicksilver in Avengers: Age of Ultron. The mutant criminal (and son of Magneto) turned Avenging hero is one of the most divisive characters in Marvel Comics.

While promoting Kick-Ass 2 the star was asked about the appeal of Quicksilver.

Taylor-Johnson points out his that he was still in talks but according to the story with Total Film, he has clearly been doing his research: Continue reading KICK-ASS Star on Quicksilver in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

The Master of Magnetism rises again! Director Bryan Singer revealed a first look at Michael Fassbender as Magneto on the set of X-Men: Days of Future Past via Twitter.

The sequel is set in 1973 and based on the classic comic book epic by Chris Claremont in which X-Men from the future try to change the past. The casts of X-Men: First Class and the original X-Men trilogy will appear in this film so Sir Ian McKellen is the film as Magneto.

It sure looks like Fassbender is on the set of what could be Professor Xavier’s School.

Evan Peters (American Horror Story) has Continue reading First Look! Michael Fassbender Returns as Magneto!

Joss Whedon keeps talking future superhero projects while supporting his new film, Much Ado About Nothing. The answer was a surprise:

“If I could get my hands on absolutely anybody it would be Batman. (audience applause) He’s a Marvel character in the DC universe.” Audience applause followed!

Joss Whedon has (almost confirmed?) that Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver will be part of Avengers 2. While promoting Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD at the ABC Fall presentation this week Whedon was asked again by IGN about the inclusion of Magneto’s mutant twins:

“You know, they had a rough beginning. They’re interesting to me because they sort of represent the part of the world that wouldn’t necessarily agree with The Avengers. So they’re not there to make things easier. I’m not putting any characters in the movie that will make things easier.”

Thanks to Spinoff Online.

Could it be that Wanda and Pietro could be supporting villains in the sequel? In the X-Men comics Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver were members of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants before reforming and joining Earth’s Mightiest Heroes along with Hawkeye (another reformed criminal.)
