Monsters attack in the the first crossover of DC Rebirth.

The adventure kicks off this week in Batman #7 and Nightwing #5.

Night of the Monster Men is guided by “showrunner” Steve Orlando (Supergirl, Midnighter)  and hits Batman, Nightwing and Detective Comics in September and October.

“As a huge storm approaches, Batman, Batwoman and Nightwing try to prepare Gotham City for the worst, but nothing can prepare them for ht enourmous tall monsters rampaging through the streets. DC Comics previewed what’s next for the Batman family of books at San Diego Comic-Con with new art at San Diego Comic Con.

Following up his Batman run, writer Scott Snyder will launch ALL-STAR BATMAN next month with top artists and focusing on the Dark Knight’s Rogues Gallery.

My Own Worst Enemy is the first story arc featuring Two-Face with artist John Romita Jr. Batman will be handcuffed to Two-Face on a cross country road trip to a possible cure for the villain he once called friend Harvey Dent. Every assassin, bounty hunter, ordinary citizen with something to hide, and “even a Bat-ally” will be chasing them down with one goal: Kill the Batman. The birth of the DC Young Animals line, more DC Comics Rebirth number ones and the first big crossover of DC Rebirth in the Batman family of books.

Here are big highlights of what’s coming from DC this September:

Doom Patrol #1 by Gerard Way and Nick Derington hailed as “a blenderized reimagining of the ultimate series of the strange, Doom Patrol combines elements from the classic runs, new directions and things that could not be.”

“Our entry point is Casey Brinke, a young EMT on the graveyard shift to abstract enlightenment, with a past so odd that she’s not entirely sure what is real and what is not. Along with her partner, Sam Reynolds, the pair blaze a path though the city with its denizens, finding the only  that exists at 3am is the chaos of the brain. FIRST DC REBIRTH Crossover in BATMAN Books

Monsters are coming to Gotham City. The Batman family will unite to stop them.

Batman #1 arrived this week kicking off a new era with a new creative team for the Dark Knight. DC Comics announced the first crossover event of the DC Rebirth era coming this fall.

Bruce Wayne is back as the Dark Knight with Duke Thomas (new costume, no code name yet) as his partner in fighting crime. Dick Grayson returns to his Nightwing code name and costume. Batman and Batwoman are co-leading Detective Comics.
