X-Men Blue #1 The original Marvel Girl, Cyclops, Beast, Iceman and Angel together again with Jean Grey as team leader and Magneto as their mentor. Cullen Bunn and Jorge Molina relaunched the time-lost mutants in a new direction.

X-Men Gold #1 Kitty Pryde assembles her own squad (Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Old Man Logan, Prestige aka Rachel Grey) on “a mission to be Earth’s finest heroes” by Marc Guggenheim and Ardian Syaf. Monstrous mayhem will continue to strike the Marvel Universe in a new ongoing series.

Monsters Unleashed #1 by Cullen Bunn and Steve McNiven just hit comic book shops. The first chapter of Marvel’s first big event of 2017 unleashed giant creatures across the planet. Avengers, Guardians, Inhumans, Champions and X-Men must join together to stop the carnage and discover who is behind the attacks. Fans saw the new and classic monsters, the return of Elsa Bloodstone and met a seemingly normal teenager who may at the center of the monstrous mystery. Marvel rings in the New Year with an army of monsters on the rampage.

The Avengers, X-Men, Champions, Inhumans and Guardians of the Galaxy will have to unite against a monstrous common threat in a five part event.

Monsters come crashing to Earth in the aftermath of Civil War II. Is this what unites the divided heroes?

Writer Cullen Bunn, Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso and Senior Editor Mark Paniccia revealed new information via a new liveblog on the heroes and monsters and the epic battle erupting in January.

Bunn said “the cause of the monster attacks, which are relentless, is something the heroes will have to figure out very very quickly. They can’t just fight their way out of this, they need to find the source and cut it off to save the world.”
