Inhumanity spread across Earth when Black Bolt detonated a Terrigen Bomb in the fight to save his race and stop Thanos during Infinity.

The bomb ignited long dormant genes inside the human race transforming some people into Inhumans. How are Marvel’s heroes, villains and what’s left of the Royal Family reacting to the sudden emergence of (thousands, millions) of new Inhumans?

Writer Charles Soule, artist Joe Madureira will explore the classic and brand new characters in this strange new world in Inhuman #1.  Soule and Editor Nick Lowe answered fans questions and revealed plans for the factions in a Marvel liveblog. Here are the highlights with stunning preview art of Queen Medusa and brand new characters: Continue reading INHUMAN Preview With Charles Soule

Let’s continue our look at the 14 characters to watch in 2014.

8. Medusa

The Inhumans are Marvel’s next big thing after years of playing supporting roles in Avengers and Fantastic Four sagas. Black Bolt and Medusa have always been one of Marvel’s greatest power couples. With her King missing, the Royal Family homeless and an outbreak of new Inhumans popping up around the globe – how will the regal Queen cope? Continue reading 14 Characters to Watch in 2014 Part Two

INHUMANITY Means Major Marvel Change

UPDATED

Now with this cover to Inhumanity #1 featuring Karnak kicking into action courtesy Marvel. Could this be a teaser that he’s the only survivor of the Royal Family?

Paranoia infects the Marvel Universe as seen by a new round of teasers for a big event coming in September. After the “Is He?” teaser my speculation hinted at the death or return of a major character or a something connected to the upcoming Inhumanity event.

With this latest round of teasers we now know it’s the Inhumans! In the aftermath of Infinity and Black Bolt’s conflict with Thanos – it’s possible the Terrigen Mist (which give young Inhumans their powers) will spread to the Earth’s surface…and the human population. Avengers at War

New Avengers #8 is the final Prelude to Infinity with a cliffhanger that warps right into next month’s big event! But before I get ahead of myself here’s why this book rocks.

Inhumans – I love ’em. There’s an Inhumanity event coming and brand new series by Matt Fraction in 2014 but the Inhumans are front and center in the coming war with Thanos.

The silent Black Bolt finally gets to speak and the revelation with his beloved queen ends with the noise of a painful slap as the King confesses to Medusa. Mike Deodato and Frank Martin’s art on these scenes are spectacular and poignant. Continue reading Avengers at War

INHUMANITY Hits Marvel

Infinity #3 courtesy Marvel

The Inhumans are one of my all-time favorite teams in comics and their leader, Black Bolt, is one of the most fascinating characters in comics. I was thrilled to learn the Inhumans will rise up to play a major role in the fight against Thanos during the Infinity event.

I’m excited to share the news from Marvel about Inhumanity! One of my favorite writers, plus one of the most dynamic artists will chronicle the next evolution of the Inhumans in a brand new series.

Matt Fraction (Fantastic Four, FF, Hawkeye) and Joe Madureira will launch Inhumans in 2014. Black Bolt, Medusa and the rest of the Kree creations have appeared in Fantastic Four and the Avengers with the occasional limited series. Continue reading INHUMANITY Hits Marvel

Medusa Mystery of FF

MEDUSA! MEDUSA! MEDUSA!

I LOVE this character. She’s my favorite Marvel redhead (after Jean Grey!) (Sorry MJ!)

The new FF series by Matt Fraction and Mike Allred is one of the most unusual and fun series you can enjoy. Medusa, Ant-Man, She-Hulk and Miss Thing were only supposed to be the substitute Four for four minutes but these “replacements” Continue reading Medusa Mystery of FF

Fantastic Future For the FF

FF #1 courtesy Marvel

It’s a new beginning for the Future Foundation in this week’s FF#1 by Matt Fraction and Mike Allred.

Here’s what you need to know: Reed Richards created the Future Foundation to help shape the world’s most brilliant young minds (including mutants, aliens and clones) into the leaders of a brighter future. Reed is taking his family on a vacation into uncharted time and space. (The real reason behind the journey is far more heartbreaking.)

FF #1 is a recruitment drive for new heroes to be the world’s new Fantastic Four while Marvel’s First Family ventures to unknown worlds. Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben recruit their replacements in clever scenes that offer great interactions and logical reasons why these new four have been chosen. Between those scenes Fraction has the extended family of FF kids explain the Foundation to their new leader.

FF #1 courtey Marvel

The human and hilarious storytelling tell you everything you need and gives you compelling reasons why should join the FF. Mike and Laura Allred’s pop art styles really convey the wonder, hope and fun in every panel. Ant-Man, Medusa, She-Hulk and the future Ms.Thing may be replacements but I think they’ll win a prime space in the hearts of comic book fans soon!

Meet the Fantastic New FF

FF #1 courtesy Marvel

Matt Fraction is taking the Fantastic Four on a family vacation through time and space with artist Mark Bagley. While Marvel’s First Family is away the Earth will be protected by the new FF by Fraction with artist Mike Allred. FF #1 is out this week. The Madman creator tells Marvel.com why he joined the FF.

“When I was approached with a project starring one of my all-time favorite, and vastly under-rated, characters, Ant-Man, I leapt out of my shoes. Literally. Those shoes are ruined now. Ant-Man has been there from the beginning. One of the very first Marvel heroes, folks; I think the first or second behind the Fantastic Four. Most people don’t know that.

Then add claiming the Baxter Building with my fave Marvel lady, Medusa, big and sexy She-Hulk, and one of the cleverest creations in recent memory, Miss Thing—now I’m almost out of my skin. Fortunately that’s just a figure of speech. I’m still tucked nicely away into my skin.

Seriously, I’m going nuts with excitement. I’m living the dream I dreamt when I was a kid, laying on the living room floor making comics with my big brother Lee.”

Reed and Scott are bonded by their roles as fathers, scientists and connection to Doctor Doom. If you read Fantastic Four #1 you know the real reason for the trip and Reed’s big secret. Maybe Scott can help Reed solve the mystery that could mean the end of Marvel’s First Family?

Warning: Spoilers Ahead!

This Ant-Man was destroyed by the Scarlet Witch in Avengers Disassembled then brought back to life to see his daughter killed in Avengers: The Children’s Crusade. Fraction previously teased how Lang will carry out a plan of revenge against Doctor Doom for Cassie’s demise.

Medusa shares a bond with Susan Storm Richards. Both women are devoted wives to husbands with tremendous responsibilities and are mothers (technically Medusa isn’t a mom but as Queen of the Inhumans she must offer tough love and compassion to her extended family.) After Jean Grey I think Medusa is my favorite Marvel redhead (sorry MJ.)

She-Hulk and She-Thing are the final two of the new FF!

Thanks to Marvel.com for these new images by the Astonishing Allred! Here’s the link to Matt Fraction revealing his take on the new Fantastic (Four & Four.
