You’ve seen them as supporting players in Fantastic Four and Avengers saga but the Inhumans are going big time at Marvel!

How big? Matt Fraction and Joe Madureira big. Their own event and series big.

We’ll know a lot more after the events of Infinity #4 but at Rose City Comic Con this past weekend writer Matt Fraction explained that Inhumanity is a status quo and not an event like the Dark Reign followed Secret Invasion.

Still wondering how big? Here’s what Fraction told fans in a Marvel.com: Continue reading INHUMANS Go Big with Matt Fraction

Avengers #20 The aftermath of last week’s blockbuster Infinity #3! Who will surrender or die fighting? Jonathan Hickman has created the creepiest aliens in the Ex Nihilos. (Think Hannibal Lecter, Alex from A Clockwork Orange, Evil from Time Bandits and whatever Tim Curry was in Legend!) I’m excited to see what happens when rival Ex Niholos on opposite sides of the war come face to face!

Batman The Dark Knight #3.1 Joker’s Daughter One of the most anticipated Villains Month issues! Arkham Asylum is broken and inmates are flooding to Joker’s Daughter. Continue reading Top Comic Book Picks for September 25, 2013

Build a bigger con and they will come!

Thousands of comic book and sci-fi fans packed the Oregon Convention Center for Rose City Comic Con this weekend. In just one year the Portland con quadrupled its show size with more celebrity guests, more panels, more game tournaments and more everything geek-tastic in a town that’s known for comics.

Avery Brooks who played Captain Benjamin Sisko on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine was a huge draw and among the brand new celebrity faces greeting Northwest fans for the first time. Some of the faithful brought DS9 comic books, Continue reading Rose City Comic Con Bigger and Better

INHUMANITY Hits Marvel

Infinity #3 courtesy Marvel

The Inhumans are one of my all-time favorite teams in comics and their leader, Black Bolt, is one of the most fascinating characters in comics. I was thrilled to learn the Inhumans will rise up to play a major role in the fight against Thanos during the Infinity event.

I’m excited to share the news from Marvel about Inhumanity! One of my favorite writers, plus one of the most dynamic artists will chronicle the next evolution of the Inhumans in a brand new series.

Matt Fraction (Fantastic Four, FF, Hawkeye) and Joe Madureira will launch Inhumans in 2014. Black Bolt, Medusa and the rest of the Kree creations have appeared in Fantastic Four and the Avengers with the occasional limited series. Continue reading INHUMANITY Hits Marvel

Francesco Francavilla on HAWKEYE

The Avenging Archer becomes the target of an unusual assassin!

Eisner-Award Winning Artist Francesco Francavilla (The Black Beetle, Black Panther – The Man Without Fear) joins writer Matt Fraction with Hawkeye #10 this week.

If you’re not reading this book (you should!) this book is about the Hawkeye when he’s not an Avenger. Even in his off-duty hours trouble finds Clint Barton. This issue kicks off a new storyline.

“On HAWKEYE we’ve been blessed with not only one of the biggest writers in comics with Matt Fraction, but also some of the best artists like David Aja, Javier Pulido and now Francesco Francavilla,” said Stephen Wacker, Senior Editor, on Marvel.com. “Though he’s only on the series for issues #10 and #12, Francesco is going to leave his mark on Clint with some of the most beautiful art you’ll see all year!”

MEDUSA! MEDUSA! MEDUSA!

I LOVE this character. She’s my favorite Marvel redhead (after Jean Grey!) (Sorry MJ!)

The new FF series by Matt Fraction and Mike Allred is one of the most unusual and fun series you can enjoy. Medusa, Ant-Man, She-Hulk and Miss Thing were only supposed to be the substitute Four for four minutes but these “replacements” Continue reading Medusa Mystery of FF

Fantastic Four! Reed’s Secret Exposed!

“Great Caesar’s Ghost!”

Maybe it’s a little weird to borrow a line from a DC character to describe a Marvel comic but it’s appropriate!

Matt Fraction and Mark Bagley’s adventure with Marvel’s First Family goes into the past and right to the heart of Marvel’s super couple. In this week’s Fantastic Four #5 Susan and Reed need some “Mommy-Daddy Time” so Ben and Johnny takes Franklin and Valeria into a living history lesson in ancient Rome.

In a hilarious hybrid of Brady Bunch and Doctor Who, Ben, Johnny and the kids encounter an alien and twisted Continue reading Fantastic Four! Reed’s Secret Exposed!
