The special Captain Marvel Carol Corps issue is out today. To celebrate the arrival of Captain Marvel #17 I wanted to share the final part of my one on one with writer Kelly Sue DeConnick at GeekGirlCon.

I asked DeConnick what’s the most important for filmmakers to get right about Carol in transitioning the fan-favorite Avenger from comic book to other mediums.

Longshot’s luck did not run out with The End of X-Factor. The former X-Man stars in his own limited series Longshot Saves the Marvel Universe by writer Christopher Hastings and artist Jacopo Camagni. Longshot’s mullet it gone and he’s got chops.

Hastings says the hero with “good luck” powers will save Marvel from everything from “super powered serial killers to totalitarian government regimes to the total destruction of reality” in a new Marvel.com interview.

Longshot was created by Ann Nocenti and Arthur Adams in their classic limited series then adopted by Chris Claremont’s X-Men for a long run before joining Peter David’s X-Factor. With such a strange origin and past Hastings tells viewers the simple reason to check out this new beginning for the hero. Continue reading LONGSHOT Saves The Marvel Universe Preview

Eye Spy was the best episode yet of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

As the episode unfolded I kept thinking of the perfect villain for the hit series. As Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his team tried to uncover who was manipulating a long-lost agent (an impressive turn by Pascale Armand) this evil scientist from Marvel history kept creeping into my brain:

Mister Hyde!

Dr. Calvin Zabo (aka Mister Hyde) was an immoral but brilliant genetic researcher. Zabo took inspiration from Robert Louis Stevenson’s The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and tried to unleash but control monstrous strength and beastial abilities.
