As you reel from this week’s epic conclusion to Marvel’s Infinity event I’m inspired to have as our Friday Flashback an earlier classic clash between Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and Thanos.

Writer Jim Starling, artists George Perez and Ron Lim gave us The Infinity Gauntlet back in 1991 in which the entire Marvel Universe took on the Mad God of Titan.

Thanos seized the Infinity Gems (also known as the Soul Gems) and assembled them on a gauntlet – this cosmic weapon gave him the power of  God. As a gift to Death (who Thanos worships) he wipes out half the lives in the universe with a snap of a finger including many Marvel heroes. Continue reading INFINITY GAUNTLET Flashback

Marvel announced a new Moon Knight series by Warren Ellis and Declan Shalvey and shared the cover to number one via Facebook.

Marc Spector is a mercenary brought by to life by an Egyptian God became a billionaire by day, crime fighting vigilante by night.

Moon Knight has been given more shots at a solo series than almost any character I can think of and often compared to Batman.

“The man is demented in more interesting ways than I think Batman ever was…his cape is actually a crescent moon and he goes out only at night and dresses in reflective white so you can see him coming. Now that’s nuts…I like that.” Ellis tells Hero Complex. Continue reading MOON KNIGHT by Warren Ellis Announced

In the finale – the heroes must take back the Peak space station and break the alien blockade to reach Earth and a showdown with the Mad God of Titan. Executive Editor Tom Brevoort tells Comic Book Resources how Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are living up their namesake.

“As soon as they finished battling with the Builders this problem with Thanos and the Earth has turned up, Continue reading Avengers in INFINITY #6 Preview
