Karen Gillan (Doctor Who, Oculus) will play the villain Nebula in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy but she may have her sights on another Marvel role…a hero.

 

“I want to play a version of Spider-Man that’s a lady,” Gillan told SFX.

Marvel announces an all-star creative roster for a new anthology celebrating 75 years of stories.

 

Legendary and current superstar creators like Stan Lee and Bruce Timm, Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos, Len Wein and Paul Gulacy, James Robinson, Tom DeFalco, Stan Goldberg, Scott Hanna, and more will be part of the Marvel 75th Anniversary Special.

It’s a blast into the past as a brand new Hulk  series ongoing smashes into comic book shops this week. Living legend Alan Davis will unleash the Green Goliatch in Savage Hulk #1 in a tale with the original X-Men.

 

“We wanted big names, super stars and break out talent to tell their unique Hulk stories within continuity,” says series editor Mark Paniccia told Marvel.com. “That might be now, or using elements of the past and perhaps even glimpses of the future. Avengers & X-Men: AXIS pits Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and the Children of the Atom against the Red Skull. The Marvel event begins this Fall by Rick Remender and crosses over into other titles.

 

One of the most anticipated battles will happen in the pages of the Magneto solo book in the March to AXIS. Magneto’s parents were killed by the Nazis so that’s reason enough for Erik to hate the Red Skull but there’s an even more powerful reason: the Red Skull stole the brain of Charles Xavier.
