Spider-Man 2099 comes out slinging in his own solo series this week. Peter David (All-New X-Factor) created Miguel O’Hara back in the 1990’s as part of Marvel’s 2099 line (which included X-Men, Punisher and Doom 2099.)

In the pages of Superior Spider-Man – O’Hara landed in our present day last year. Now Miguel i is stranded in the past but determined to fix the future. David is spinning new stories of the future Spidey with artist Will Sliney (Fearless Defenders) with covers by Simone Bianchi.

Acclaimed writer Peter David explains why he reunited with the breakout hero he created nearly two decades ago:

“I try not to “want” to return to characters I don’t own because, well, I don’t own them. Continue reading SPIDER-MAN 2099 Begins Again

Magneto vs. Red Skull!

And that’s just in the build up to Avengers and X-Men: AXIS as Marvel’s heroes united against the might of the Red Onslaught (Red Skull with the telepathic powers of Charles Xavier.)

Red Skull is a Nazi war criminal and he stole Xavier’s brain right out of his skull to declare his own genocidal campaign against mutants.

If that’s not reason enough for the Master of Magnetism to go to war…what about the Red Skull’s actions against his daughter (Scarlet Witch) and former lover (Rogue.) Continue reading MARCH TO AXIS: CULLEN BUNN On MAGNETO Vs. RED SKULL

The fan-favorite X-Man will finally die in a special series by writer Charles Soule and artist Steve McNiven. Without his mutant healing factor, Logan will take on his greatest enemies in a final battle to the very end. Continue reading DEATH OF WOLVERINE Cover By ED MCGUINNESS

After reading Wolverine #9, the next to last chapter of Three Months to Die, I thought about my next and maybe best candidate for the next Wolverine. No one can replace James Howlett aka Logan but will someone take up the code-name and carry on the X-Man’s legacy?

After Logan’s literal dance with “Death” in this week’s issue I thought of the perfect hero become the next Wolverine.

Laura Kinney aka X-23.

Laura is a clone created from Logan’s DNA (his X-gene to be specific) in a section of the Weapon X program. Born in blood, bred to be an assassin and reborn a hero – Laura would be a student at Xavier’s but would later be recruited (against Logan’s wishes) for the X-Force.
