Batman/Superman #1 hits comic book shops today! DC Comics announced the team-up book’s writer Greg Pak is taking over writing Action Comics.

Batman/Superman reveals the first meeting between the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight in The New 52 era:

The smashing success of Man of Steel could determine the big screen future of a team-up with the Dark Knight or the Justice League but you don’t have to wait too much longer to see Kal and Bruce!

DC‘s two most iconic heroes team up in a brand new Batman/Superman series by Greg Pak and Jae Lee out Wednesday. This will be the definitive story of how Bruce and Clark first met in The New 52. Pak reveals the timing of the series:

“Our story takes place around the time of Grant Morrison’s Action Comics #1. So it takes place when both of these guys are very young and very new to the whole superhero thing,” Pak told MTV GEEK .

“We’re going to have this fantastic opportunity to see how these very young guys view each other. Imagine finding out for the first time about some guy who runs around in a bat costume fighting crime or some guy with these insane powers doing the same thing. Each hero’s reaction to the other is going to surprise folks a little bit, because they’re both so new. Superman/Wonder Will Be Romance and Action

Superman and Wonder Woman are taking their relationship to the next level! DC Comics announced a brand new Superman/Wonder Woman series by Charles Soule (Swamp Thing) and Tony Daniel (Batman, Action Comics, Detective Comics) coming this October.

Soule tells Comics Newsarama how he sees the two teammates turned lovers:

“I think they’re very similar in a lot of ways, which is partly why they were attracted to each other in the first place, but I also think Superman and Wonder are extremely different.

You know, one grew up in a sort of cloistered society on Paradise Island, where she was trained to be a warrior, and had the gods running around and so-on, so-forth, whereas Superman grew up in Kansas and had to grow into his powers not really knowing who he was and where he came from.
So culturally, I think they’re extraordinarily different people. And the way they approach their own powers and their own identity and their role in the world is very different.
