Kelly Sue DeConnick announced she’s leaving Captain Marvel after Secret Wars at her Heroes Con panel and confirmed via Twitter.

“So hard to go, but it’s time.”

DeConnick redefined Carol Danvers and inspired a devoted fan base, the Carol Corps.

Image Comics revealed a huge rundown of new creator-owned projects coming in 2014. At the Image Comics Expo – the publisher celebrated a year of creator-owned successes and huge sales while fans can celebrate the next wave of new projects from some of the biggest creators in comics.

 

The biggest announcement: Ed Brubaker (Fatale, Criminal, Velvet) and Sean Phillips (Incognito, Sleeper) and Image Comics signed an unprecedented deal in comics publishing, a five year deal to do anything they want with total freedom, total control, and total ownership over their projects.
