Is Oscar winner J.K. Simmons leaving The Daily Bugle for Gotham City’s top cop job?

Simmons has joined the cast of Justice League as Commissioner Jim Gordon according to The Hollywood Reporter.  The two-part film is the follow up to Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, which sets up the new DC Comics Universe with Warner Brothers.

The super-powered sequel will feature new Batman Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman with Cyborg, Flash and Aquaman on the team. The film begins production next month.

GOTHAM VILLAINS WAR in FALL FINALE

Rise of the Villains reached a mid-season finale on Gotham.

It’s been a bloody, action-packed first half of the season with the death and birth of the Joker legend, the arrival of mad monks from Batman mythology and Barbara‘s deadly wedding ceremony gone wrong. They were all pieces of a revenge plot that goes back to a war among Gotham City’s first families.

In Worse Than a Crime the villains have risen and have the upper hand with our heroes on the run or waiting to be killed. Young Bruce Wayne was being held and waiting to be served on the sacrificial altar, Alfred was hurt and on the run after a near fatal encounter with Galavan’s psychotic sister and James Gordon turned to unlikely allies to save the Son of Gotham as Galavan‘s endgame raced to a climax with huge hints as new villains rising. GOTHAM Season Preview

Gotham reveals the origins of Jim Gordon and Batman’s greatest enemies.

 

The premiere set the stage for Gordon’s friendship with young Bruce Wayne, partnership with Harvey Bullock, the beginnings of future super villains and the power struggle under Carmine Falcone and Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) and especially the twisted transformation of Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) into Penguin.

 

Fox shared an extended trailer for the series via YouTube.

 

A major Batman villain seizes the stage, plans for Arkham Asylum are revealed and more classic enemies are teased.
