Fox Targets Russian Actress as the Viper in “The Wolverine”

  Jessica Biel won’t be playing the Viper in The Wolverine. The actress was offered the role but talks broke down and the studio is looking at other stars according to Collider.  

  Now Svetlana Khodchenkova is in talks with Fox according to Twitch. The Russian actress recently appeared in the remake of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.

 Hugh Jackman’s next film is based on the limited series by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller and focuses on Logan falling in love with a crime lord’s daughter in Japan.

  The Viper is a mercenary of Eastern European descent who works for the Silver Samurai.  He is mutant, half brother of the woman Logan loves, and heir to the clan. The Viper eventually becomes Madame Hydra, leader of the organization led by the Red Skull in the Captain America movie. In the Wolverine comic book Viper forced Logan to marry her in an effort to avoid an all out war between Hydra and The Hand.

  If Biel is out I say producers turn to her Total Recall co-star Kate Beckinsale. This would reteam Jackman and Beckinsale and stake the memories of their last on-screen appearance Van Helsing.

Jessica Biel is Viper in The Wolverine

Jessica Biel is making hers Marvel in The Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman. Biel will play the Viper/Victoria according to Deadline. Biel played Abbie vampire hunter Abbie Whistler in Blade:Trinity and will co-star with Colin Farrell and Kate Beckinsale in the upcoming remake of Total Recall.

 Viper is the green-haired villainess who would become Madame Hydra. The criminal operative and terrorist leader has been an on-again and off-again love interest of Logan and a formidable foe in X-Men history. If Viper is in the film could Madripoor can a location in the story?

 The Wolverine is said to be based on the Chris Claremont/Frank Miller story of Logan’s time in Japan when he falls for the daughter of a crime lord. Lord Shingen, Silver Samurai, Lady Mariko and the Ronin known as Yukio have been cast.

  Madripoor is a fictional country where Logan owned a bar and came into conflict with Viper among many other master criminals. The island nation in southeast Asia is a nest of crime, smuggling, and corruption. Viper gained control of the nation and forced Logan into marraige.

New “Total Recall” Trailer

  Colin Farrell is the lead in the new version of Total Recall based on Phillip K. Dick’s “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale.” Edit out Arnold, Mars and the over the top, color filled world and edit in Colin in an Earth that could a be pre-Blade Runner society with Minority Report finishes. Colin Farrell and Kate Beckinsale executive action moves that would impress Jason Bourne’s Treadstone handlers. Jessica Biel and Bryan Cranston also star in Len Wiseman’s film.
