Fox revealed the first featurette for the upcoming series Gotham.
Along with plans to reveal the early years of Catwoman, Penguin, Poison Ivy, Riddler – Executive Producer Bruno Heller teased the series will explore the back story of the Joker and Scarecrow.
Ben McKenzie will play James Gordon. Heller says when the series begins Gordon will have only been on the Gotham City Police for two weeks. The video includes interview with McKenzie, Donal Logue who played Detective Harvey Bullock, producer Danny Cannon and Jada Pinkett Smith who plays a villain created just for the series.
Along with Gordon’s partnership with Bullock, the series will focus on the rookie cop’s bond with a young Bruce Wayne.
Ben McKenzie (Southland, The O.C.) has been cast as young James Gordon in Fox’s GothamDeadline reports. The television series will about the origin of the early days of rookie police detective Jim Gordon and the villains of Gotham City.
McKenzie was the voice of Bruce Wayne/Batman in the animated movie version of Batman: Year One.
Batman Eternal begins this April. The new weekly series by all-star writers Scott Snyder (acting as a Show Runner) with James Tynion IV, John Layman, Ray Fawkes and Tim Seeley tells a massive storyline with the huge cast of the Dark Knight’s friends and foes.
