Doctor Strange featured comics canon Easter eggs, cameos and massive ties to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The latest Phase Three film opened doors to new dimensions, introduced new villains but how did it wrap into the big cosmic conspiracy weaving through all the Marvel movies?

I love when non-comic reading but Marvel movie fans come to me wanting to know more about the comics and asking those geektastic questions like, “wasn’t that a stone like in the other movies? That’s part of a bigger thing right?”

Yes, I respond enthusiastically and dive in.

Nearly every film has one common element that will lead to Avengers: Infinity War: Infinity Stones.

In the comics Thanos gathered these six stones on a cosmic Gauntlet and unleashed Death (an actual entity he worships) across the Marvel universe.

Where are those stones and how does Doctor Strange fit into the quest for pieces of the ultimate weapon? Continue reading MARVEL Movies INFINITY Update

Leave it to Ben Grimm ( as written by Brian Michael Bendis) to ask one of the biggest, possibly more daunting question in the Marvel universe no one else ever thought to ask!

The Infinity Gauntlet is cosmic weapon of supreme power once the Infinity Gems have been mounted. This ancient artifact is the inspiration for a one of the greatest epics in Marvel Comics history (by writer Jim Starlin) and has an ominous presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase One, Two and Three leading up the Avengers: The Infinity War I, II.

Guardians of the Galaxy #1 arrived in comic shops this week with a new team including Ben Grimm, formerly of Fantastic Four, which came to an end earlier this year. Bendis immediately captured what fans love about the Thing especially his humor. It was one line for comic relief that stuck in my head. Maybe it wasn’t just comic relief but a big hint of things to come in the All-New, All-Different Marvel Now. Continue reading BEN GRIMM’s BIG QUESTION in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

Marvel’s WHAT IF? series make a huge cosmic comeback this Fall.

INFINITY is one of Marvel’s biggest, game-changing events of recent years during Jonathan Hickman’s first year on the AVENGERS. While the Avengers were away, Thanos invaded, leading to the Mighty Avengers stepping up and Black Bolt unleashing Terrigenesis and a new generation of Inhumans.

Now Joshua Williamson shows us a complete different outcome: Green Goblin holding the Infinity Gauntlet? Thanos wielding Captain America’s shield?

Here’s the official announcement: Continue reading MARVEL Asks WHAT IF INFINITY WAR

A classic epic get an injection of new blood.

The world of The Infinity Gauntlet becomes a Secret Wars Warzone in a new tie-in series by Gerry Duggan (Hulk, Deadpool, Nova) and Dustin Weaver (Avengers, SHIELD).

Thanos is in pursuit of the legendary artifact, aliens ravage the planet but a family connected to the Nova Force rises to stand against them.

“It’s a unique opportunity to showcase a family of survivors dealing with an alien invasion that was devastatingly successful. Families are fun to write. They push and pull each other in different directions. The Bakians are really backed into a corner; it will be fun to see them try to overcome their many, horrible problems,” Duggan told Marvel.com.
