MAN OF STEEL Comes Home

Man of Steel can soar to your home. It seems like I just saw Henry Cavill flying on the big screen.
Here’s what I said then about the Superman reboot:

Bringing a superhero like Superman into today’s world before today’s audience is a huge challenge so I commend the men and women behind Man Of Steel for taking this on. There are moments in the film I absolutely loved. It some ways it worked beautifully – in some ways I could only think, “That’s…not Superman.” Continue reading MAN OF STEEL Comes Home

Superman will meet the Dark Knight for the first time on the big screen! Warner Brothers announced the Man of Steel sequel will be a Superman/Batman team-up at San Diego Comic Con.

Henry Cavill will return as Kal-El with a new actor to be cast as Batman. As for the story well this might give you a BIG hint:

Actor Harry Lennox (Man of Steel) read the following from The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller:

“I want you to remember, Clark, in all the years to come, in all your most private moments, I want you to remember my hand at your throat. I want you to remember the one man who beat you.” Continue reading Superman/Batman Movie Announced!

Henry Cavill is soaring as Superman in Man of Steel and will fly again in sequels and a possible Justice League movie.

Imagine Cavill as James Bond or Edward Cullen?

Cavill’s road to Superman includes a list of roles in other huge film franchises that he lost. The star reveals to ABC News he lost out on playing James Bond in Casino Royale to Daniel Craig. He lost Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and Goblet of Fire and Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga to Robert Pattinson. Craig has starred in 3 James Bond films and is contracted for 2 more.

MAN OF STEEL – Modern Superman

Bringing a superhero like Superman into today’s world before today’s audience is a huge challenge so I commend the men and women behind MAN OF STEEL for taking this on. There are moments in the film I absolutely loved. It some ways it worked beautifully  – in some ways I could only think, “That’s…not Superman.”

It’s appropriate that MAN OF STEEL arrived on Father’s Day Weekend. Scenes with Kal-El/Clark’s parents were my favorite parts of the film. The casting and performances of Kevin Costner and Diane Lane are perfection. Kal’s search for his identity was moving and wonderfully played by Henry Cavill. I’m not ashamed to say I had tears in the scenes with young Clark and his Smallville parents. Russell Crowe was an inspiration. Jor-El was not just a visionary scientist but a man of action and compassion.

MAN OF STEEL succeeds as a realistic, darker take Continue reading MAN OF STEEL – Modern Superman

Will the new Superman actor trade in his super suit for a tuxedo?

Man of Steel star Henry Cavill is in talks to replace Tom Cruise in the Guy Ritchie directed The Man From U.N.C.L.E. for Warner Brothers according to Variety. Armie Hammer (The Lone Ranger) recently signed on as Russian agent Ilya Kuryakin. Cavill would play American spy Napoleon Solo. Cruise left to film a 5th Mission Impossible movie. The Man From U.N.C.L.E. would be based on the 1960’s television series about agents of the United Network Command for Law Enforcement who fought against the evil agents of THRUSH.
