Michael Fassbender on X-Men: First Class Sequel Ideas

Michael Fassbender quotes are coming fast and furious as the hot star talks about a possible sequel to X-Men: First Class while promoting his new movie Haywire.

Fassbender gave IFC his thoughts on the next chapter of Xavier and Magneto.

“You know what’s interesting about Magneto and Professor X from the comic books as well, is there’s such a complexity to their relationship,” he explained, offering the notion that Magneto need not necessarily become a full-fledged villain. “It’s not just like clear-cut enemies; they’re best friends as well. In the comic books, even after they’ve had this sort of rift, Professor X asks Magneto to come back and look after the students at certain points… I think there’s always that complexity in their relationship and we want to keep that alive as possible, because that’s I think a really interesting thing — the conflict there.”

“I get where [Magneto] is coming from, that’s for sure — having read the source material, the comic books,” he explained. “From what we know with human beings, history has told us that we’re a pretty destructive race, so you can see where he’s coming from. It’s always interesting for me to have the villains doing positive things as well as negative or destructive things. I just think it’s more realistic.”

I would like to see Magneto’s children (Polaris, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver) turn up in the sequel. Fassbender is still a young man so casting and aging make-up would be considerations to make it work.

Michael Fassbender on Filming “Prometheus”

The Cast of X-Men: First Class courtesy Marvel.com

Michael Fassbender was the Master of Magnetism in X-Men: First Class and the focus of George Clooney’s show stealing joke at the Golden Globe Awards for his performance in Shame. The actor’s hot streak continues with Haywire. While promoting that new film Fassbender talked about filming Prometheus with Ridley Scott to In Style.

“The first thing that struck me was a good script. Really intelligent script. A real thriller. Real anticipation. The first alien had that. The atmosphere was thick. You knew that something was going to happen. Which is very rare that you can read that in a script. And also, Ridley Scott is the master. He’s amazing. Really something else to watch him work. His attention to detail. And also his mischievousness, his playfulness. And again, no idea is stupid for him. He’ll let you bring it to the floor and have a go at it. I really, really enjoyed working with him. And of course the cast.”

Fassbender confirmed he will be playing an android named David. Thanks to Comic Book Resources for finding the story.

Because you can’t get enough of this trailer here it is again!

Love for Lady Shiva

With the announcement of six new titles from the DC Comics The New 52 Second Wave and a new look the trailer for Haywire – it came to me like a geekasm!

Gail Simone on a new Lady Shiva series and Haywire star Gina Carano playing the master assassin in the next Batman film…oh yeah….back to the comic book series idea…

Lady Shiva is one of the deadliest assassins in the DC Universe. Shiva has fought with and against or trained a who’s who including Batman, Cassandra Cain, Black Canary, Tim Drake, Ra’s Al Ghul, the League of Assassins, and the Brotherhood of the Fist.

Gail Simone’s reel (because her writing is downright cinematic) features Birds of Prey, Secret Six and the dynamic new Batgirl. I don’t think the martial arts grandmaster has appeared in the New 52 yet and I think Simone is the perfect choice to unleash Lady Shiva on DC’s New 52 underworld.
