This week’s episode of Gotham was heavily promoted as the possible first appearance of the Joker. We saw the famous circus family that gave us the young man who would become Robin but all eyes were on another boy in the infamous circus.

Oswald Cobblepot is on the rise as his former boss Fish Mooney falls on Gotham. The mole is playing mobster against mobster on his bloody path to becoming the infamous Batman villain Penguin.

Robin Lord Taylor teases what’s coming up in his series including a monumental meeting between the two men who will become Penguin and Riddler (played by Cory Michael Smith.)

Jada Pinkett Smith strikes like a tiger shark on Gotham as Fish Mooney. Could the mobster muscle her way into Batman comics?

Gotham reveals the origin stories of the Dark Knight’s greatest allies (Jim Gordon, Harvey Bullock, Renee Montoya, Sarah Essen) and enemies. The future Penguin, Riddler, Poison Ivy and Catwoman have been seen so far.

Producers created Fish Mooney just for the series. Jada Pinkett Smith brings the the sexy, ruthless and vicious mob boss to evil life. Fish runs the theater district under Carmine Falcone and made Oswald Cobblepot her slave until she had him “retired.” Smith and Robin Lord Taylor fittingly “stole the show” as the criminal mistress and misfit in the premiere episode.
