It’s almost Christmas but we have big news for the biggest comic book fan holiday.
The Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) Committee has selected the twelve Gold Sponsor comic book titles for the comic book industry’s most anticipated annual event, Free Comic Book Day. FCBD takes place each year on the first Saturday in May at participating comic book shops worldwide, with next year’s event taking place on May 6th, 2017.
Free Comic Book Day is the comic book specialty market’s annual event where participating comic book shops across North America and around the world give away comic book absolutely free to anyone who comes into their comic shops. Different shops have different rules.
The 2017 Gold comics were chosen by comic shop retailers on the FCBD Selection Committee and feature something for everyone: from superheroes, to popular films and television shows, to beloved video game franchises, and all-ages favorites. The Gold Sponsor publishers include Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Dark Horse Comics, IDW Publishing, Image Comics, Archie Comics, Bongo Comics, BOOM! Studios, Oni Press, Titan Comics, Valiant Entertainment, and VIZ Media.
It feels like an awards show announcement! “And the titles are….!”
