Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot is diverting from comic book canon.

Fans are still debating the casting of the actors playing Marvel’s First Family but what will we think about a radical reworking of one of Marvel’s most iconic villains?

Toby Kebbell (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Wrath of the Titans) is playing Doom in director Josh Trank’s film.

FUTURE of FANTASIC FOUR After Cancellation

Marvel confirmed the rumors about their Fantastic Four series at New York Comic Con.

Current writer James Robinson said the Fantastic Four are “going away for a while” and he’s “building up to the end of the Fantastic Four.”

Marvel is cancelling the latest volume of the book starring their First Family.

The End of FourEver will be the final arc ending with issue 645 – a return to the original numbering.

FANTASTIC FOUR Reboot Compared To BATMAN BEGINS

With the global launch of X-Men: Days of Future Past behind him there’s no rest for Simon Kinberg. The producer/writer is on the set of the Fantastic Four reboot. Movie franchises starring the Children of the Atom and Marvel’s First Family are both controlled by Fox.

 

In a new interview Kinberg tells The Daily Beast the tone of the Fantastic Four will be different:

Fox Sets Dates For FANTASTIC FOUR, THE WOLVERINE 2

Fox moves full speed ahead its own cinematic universe based on the Marvel heroes it controls by locking down dates for Marvel’s First Family and fan-favorite X-Man.
