Negasonic Teenage Warhead?

Say that again?

Deadpool producers have cast newcomer Brianna Hildebrand as a very obscure character from the X-Men comics canon according to The Hollywood Reporter.

So obscure she was only seen alive for moments before she was killed off.

Grant Morrison created Negasonic Teenage Warhead during his New X-Men run. Ellie Phimister (her real name) was a telepath with precognitive abilities studying under Emma Frost in Genosha. Ellie has a vision of the population being exterminated moments before a squadron of “Wild” Sentinels attack the island nation killing six million people on the mutant haven. Every holiday season I love sharing special Christmas issues of the X-Men.

This year’s holiday flashback comes the same week a key issue that changes the Children of the Atom.

Uncanny X-Men #29 is a “turning point” for the mutants and a moment Brian Michael Bendis has been building up to since he took over Uncanny and launched All-New X-Men and revealed the legacy of the late Professor Charles Xavier.

The bitterly divided mutant factions united for the Last Will and Testament of Xavier this year and coped with the death of Wolverine.

So let’s reflect on moments of the past when the X-Men came together to celebrate the holidays and their extended family. Continue reading HAPPY X-MEN HOLIDAYS

Spoiler Warning:

This story contains plot details of X-Men: Days of Future Past so you may not want to continue reading if you have not seen the new film.

Is this the cinematic end of Miss Emma Frost?

Emma appeared briefly in X-Men: Origins: Wolverine as the captured sister of Kayla (aka Silver Fox) played by Lynn Collins. We can assume it was Emma since she was icy blonde and could transform into diamond. The infamous Emma Frost of the Hellfire Club era was played by January Jones in X-Men: First Class. This was absolutely the telepath who could transform into diamond and was the lover of Sebastian Shaw.

In X-Men: Days of Future Past Mystique learns that Emma died as a prisoner of Bolivar Trask along with some other characters from First Class.

Does that mean, “No More Emma” in future X-Men movies? Continue reading X-MEN: EMMA FROST OF FUTURE PAST

Who has a gun to Cyclops’s head?

Is Scott’s revolution about to be silenced along with the mutant leader?

The revolution escalates and so does the war with S.H.I.E.L.D. in Uncanny X-Men #18 this week.

It’s all part of the master plan by writer Brian Michael Bendis since he launched Uncanny X-Men and All-New X-Men.

“All of the groundwork has been laid out and now it’s time to blow the roof off the place,” Continue reading CYCLOPS Under The Gun In UNCANNY X-MEN #18
