Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. delivered an action packed new episode introducing new characters, hidden secrets, Easter eggs and one of the most unexpected characters I never thought would jump from comics to screen.

In “One of Us”, Kyle MacLachlan returned as “Cal” the psychotic father of Skye. The scientist is recruiting villains in his crusade of revenge against S.H.I.E.L.D. including Drea de Matteo as the metal clawed Karla Faye Gideon.

Here’s what we learned:

“The Index” is a S.H.I.E.L.D. watch list for super powered people – some are kept hidden in prison. Continue reading WHO’S on the AGENTS OF SHIELD Index?

Michael Hogan will be among the stellar cast of celebrities at Fan Expo Vancouver next weekend. Devoted Battlestar Galactica fans will flock to the Vancouver Convention Center April 20th and 21st for a chance to cheer on the actor who played Colonel Saul Tigh on the SyFy series.

I had the opportunity to speak with Hogan in this exclusive preview of his upcoming appearance at Fan Expo Vancouver. I asked the veteran actor how playing Tigh had changed his career.

“I had been acting for 37 years before BSG came along. I’m a journeyman actor. I guess you can say a veteran. I appreciated what was going on. I knew how fantastic this was. Eddie (Edward James Olmos), Mary (McDonnell) was aware. This was incredibly  special.”

From Executive Officer to resistance leader to the revelation Continue reading Fan Expo Vancouver Preview: BSG’s Michael Hogan

Emerald City Comicon – Just 1 Week Away!

Emerald City Comicon Exclusive by Alex Ross courtesy Emerald City Comicon

Emerald City Comicon is just one week away when my home of Seattle becomes the center of the comic book/sci fi universe! Jim and the guys at the con made some big new announcements!

Edward James Olmos of Battlestar Galatica will now be at the con the entire weekend! (He was previously scheduled for Friday only.)

Jason Mamoa (Conan the Barbarian, Stargate:Atlantis, Games of Thrones) has just been added to the line-up. (Katee Sackhoff will not be able to attend due to a film school commitment.)

Battlestar Galactica Blood and Chrome Trailer!

Luke Pasqualino courtesy IMDB

io9 posted the what’s being called a trailer for the Battlestar Galactica prequel Blood and Chrome. The story follows a young William Adama (played by Luke Pasqualino) in the first Cylon War. io9 reports SyFy ‘demoted’ the mini-series from television to the web. Take a look and see!

So Say We All? Should SyFy put this back on the network? The song used with the trailer is perfect. It’s Trent Reznor’s remake of “Immigrant Song” he made for the U.S. version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo which makes me suspect this could be a fan trailer or an in-house trailer not meant for the public. Regardless, the images looks great and I’m in!

Special Note: The man who played Admiral Adama, Edward James Olmos, will be appearing at Emerald City Comicon on Friday, March 30th.

A huge announcement from Emerald City Comicon! Edward James Olmos will be appearing on Friday, March 30th only at the Seattle event.

Science fiction fans know Olmos as Commander Adama in the reimagined Battlestar Galactica and Gaff in Blade Runner. Olmos was nominated for an Oscar for his role in Stand and Deliver and an Emmy for his role on Miami Vice and recently joined Dexter.

This is a reason to cheer! “So Say We All!”
