Dustin Weaver (Jonathan Hickman’s artist on SHIELD) shows Corvus Glaive confronting Queen Medusa in the fiery ruins of the Inhumans’ home.
Here’s a first look at Dustin Weaver’s art for Infinity #2 from Marvel. Writer Jonathan Hickman is joined by Jim Cheung, Weaver and Avengers World artist Jerome Opena on the epic clash between Earth’s Mightiest Heroes vs. Thanos and the mysterious Builders.
I’m a huge fan of Hickman and Weaver’s SHIELD series so it’s a thrill to see them work together again. The Hickman/Weaver SHIELD series is not about Nick Fury and super spies but rather Leonardo Da Vinci, Galileo, Howard Stark and other super brains in a history twisting epic. Jonathan Hickman just created the most dangerous hero in the Marvel Universe in this week’s Avengers #7.
More dangerous than Hulk. More than Thor. More than The Sentry.
Hickman is transforming what would call a failed experiment from the 1980’s and turning into a fascinating, thrilling storyline for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes that will shake the foundation of Universe 616.
You don’t need to know your comic book history to enjoy the current storyline but if do remember the New Universe then it adds layers of intrigue and awe to see what Hickman if crafting.

Jonathan Hickman and Jerome Opena relaunch a brand new Avengers series in the Marvel NOW! Marvel revealed this first look at the three covers in one by Dustin Weaver.
Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Spider-Woman, Spider-Man, Wolverine and the new Captain Marvel are on the team. Cap sidekick Falcon is joining up. Cannonball of New Mutants is seen blasting into action. One cover #2 there’s a man on fire – is this Jim Hammond – the original Human Torch? On cover #3 is a man with a shadow power and infinity sign on this chest? Could this be Cannonball’s New Mutants teammate Roberto da Costa aka Sunspot or maybe an Eternal?
I’m loving Cannonball on the team. I think Sam Guthrie is the Dick Grayson of the Marvel Universe. Cannonball could easily take over for Cyclops but will never be allowed to like Dick could take over for Bruce as Batman. I’m thrilled to see Sam soar in the greater Marvel Now.
