Bats vs Birds. A Batman sidekick’s true destiny revealed. The Joker – the hero?
DARK DAYS THE CASTING is the second of the one, two punch before DARK NIGHTS: METAL – the six part epic unleashing an army of evil Batmen from the Dark Multiverse. That’s no spoiler. It’s been out there. But how these really Dark Knights got unleashed is the revealed in this week’s massive issue.
A new era for the Dark Knight begins with Batman: Rebirth #1 as Scott Snyder passes the torch (or is batarang a better choice?) to Tom King for an adventure that revamps a classic villain and gives fan-favorite Thomas a new role.
Snyder, King and artist Mikel Janin team up for a one-shot that sets up Batman: Rebirth with an intense story and a less brooding Dark Knight who is thinking forward and changing things up.
When Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo end their epic Dark Knight run with Batman #51 next month they leave fans with amazing parting gifts in form of cool new characters in Gotham City.

As a boy, Duke helped Bruce Wayne in his Zero Year as a costumed crime fighter under Riddler’s reign. The breakout star led the We Are Robin title and movement. Will Duke have a new code-name and role in the DC Comics Rebirth?
Did we see the future of Batman family in Detective Comics #40 and this week’s Detective Comics: Endgame #1?
This one-shot may be more than an intense tie-in to the Joker’s current reign of terror in Batman: Endgame.
If you caught this tale of teens taking action in a Jokerized infected Gotham City you may have seen some of the cast of We Are Robin. – the upcoming new book by Lee Bermejo and Khary Randolph.
