DC Declares BATMAN DAY

DC Comics is planning something special for every Batfan of every era for the Dark Knight’s 75th Anniversary.

Here’s the official announcement:

“In celebration of Batman’s 75th anniversary, DC Entertainment is partnering with thousands of comic book retailers and bookstores across the nation to celebrate “Batman Day” on Wednesday, July 23. As part of the festivities, fans who visit participating retailers receive a free, special edition of DETECTIVE COMICS #27, featuring a reimagining of Batman’s 1939 comic book debut, designed by Chip Kidd with a script by The New York Times #1 bestselling author Brad Meltzer (Identity Crisis, Justice League of America). DC Comics Reveals FUTURES END Month Details

The New 52: Futures End #1 courtesy DC Comics

Ever since the launch of The New 52 DC Comics marks the anniversary with a month of themed titles. Zero Month was a look at the origins of your favorite heroes and villains, evil took over in Villains Month last year and this September DC creators take you 5 years into the future with Futures End month. The month will tie into the upcoming Futures End weekly series by an all-star team of creators.

Robin returns? Who is wearing the mask?

When Damian was killed in Batman, Incorporated – Bruce’s story of loss, grief, anger continued in Batman and Robin by Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason. The team book became a team-up book as guest stars joined Bruce in his search for Damian’s body and a way to possibly revive him.

The hunt for Robin is over. Bruce’s war with Ra’s Al Ghul is far from over.

DC Comics & GRANT MORRISON Present MULTIVERSITY

The long-awaited Multiversity by Grant Morrison finally has a release date.

Morrison will team up with artists Chris Sprouse, Frank Quitely, Cameron Stewart and more to spin stories from across multiple timelines in The New 52.

ANN NOCENTI on CATWOMAN at EMERALD CITY COMICON

Ann Nocenti is making Selina Kyle smarter and even more manipulative. The Catwoman writer was part of DC Comics all-star team of creators at Emerald City Comicon on the 75th Anniversary of the Batman’s debut in Detective Comics.

Catwoman #30 is the start of Race of Thieves as Selina enters a global contest to become the best thief on the planet. There’s no honor among thieves and Selina is outgunned against more super powered criminals.
