DC Comics is planning something special for every Batfan of every era for the Dark Knight’s 75th Anniversary.

 

Here’s the official announcement:

 

“In celebration of Batman’s 75th anniversary, DC Entertainment is partnering with thousands of comic book retailers and bookstores across the nation to celebrate “Batman Day” on Wednesday, July 23. As part of the festivities, fans who visit participating retailers receive a free, special edition of DETECTIVE COMICS #27, featuring a reimagining of Batman’s 1939 comic book debut, designed by Chip Kidd with a script by The New York Times #1 bestselling author Brad Meltzer (Identity Crisis, Justice League of America). Ever since the launch of The New 52 DC Comics marks the anniversary with a month of themed titles. Zero Month was a look at the origins of your favorite heroes and villains, evil took over in Villains Month last year and this September DC creators take you 5 years into the future with Futures End month. The month will tie into the upcoming Futures End weekly series by an all-star team of creators.

The long-awaited Multiversity by Grant Morrison finally has a release date.
