I think I’m ready to talk about the Death of X finale.

They say you only hurt the ones you love. Marvel must be truly, madly, deeply in love with Scott Summers.

Fans have known for a year that Cyclops died in the eight month gap after the Secret Wars finale and All-New, All-Different Marvel Now launch. I kept believing it wasn’t so. Emma Frost was missing in action. The X-Men’s modern mainstay power couple was off the grid as the mutant race faced a new genetic crisis.

Death of X #4 revealed the truth after a year of speculation and set the stage for war in Inhumans vs. X-Men next month.

Is Cyclops missing or dead?

Did Scott Summers have it coming?

After bombshells from Storm in Extraordinary X-Men #2 and Jean Grey in issue 3  — X-fans are debating the fate of Summers.

Marvel announced Cyke’s fate will be revealed in Death of X, a four part limited series by Jeff Lemire and Charles Soule this fall.

As we anxiously await answers about the possible final days of Scott Summers after Secret Wars, we are looking back at the life, times and crimes of the man called Cyclops.

The man Professor Xavier chose to lead the mutants has never had it easy. He’s been put in incredible scenarios against impossible odds and faced tragedy after tragedy. His fellow mutants have constantly been under attack and he’s been forced to make tough calls without a single Avenger coming to his aid. That’s what I love about him. EXTRAORDINARY X-MEN INHUMAN SHOCKER

Mister Sinister returned in Extraordinary X-Men #4 to deliver a shocking twist in the Mutant/Inhuman conflict.

Writer Jeff Lemire gave X-fans a “gift” in the Christmas week book and final issue of the year.

The mutant race is on the fast track to extinction again. The Terrigen Mists creating new Inhumans are killing and sterilizing mutants. Cyclops attacked the Inhumans and now he’s been  declared dead.

In this week’s chapter, Ororo, Old Man Logan, Jean and Iceman went to rescue Nightcrawler, Colossus and Magik from Sinister and his new Marauders.

As we count down to Christmas there’s a sleigh full of new comics at your local comic book shop this week including two new books based on classic sci-fi films, a bloody showdown between heroes in Robin War and let’s kick it off with the the rise of Wonder Woman when the Justice League fall prey to ultimate power.

Fate OF CYCLOPS Burning Questions

Cyclops is missing from the All-New, All-Different Marvel Now.

After leading the mutant revolution under Brian Michael Bendis, Scott Summers is now MIA as Jeff Lemire launches the next evolution of the X-Men saga.

Was his fate revealed in this week’s Extraordinary X-Men #2?

Major evidence in this week’s Uncanny Inhumans #1 that a X-Men vs. Inhumans war is brewing. Is Charles Soule sewing the seeds for a major Marvel crossover of the new era in 2016?
