Emerald City Comicon gets one of the biggest stars of the Marvel universe for next year’s big event.

Clark Gregg is the latest celebrity guest to join the roster of stars at the biggest pop culture event in the Pacific Northwest. Gregg is best known as Agent Phil Coulson from Iron Man, Thor, The Avengers and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The strange connection between Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Seattle International Film Festival continues. Every year Seattle welcomes films from around the world along with several actors and directors supporting their independent productions. Two festivals in row brought multiple stars from Marvel’s Cinematic Universe aligning on the Red Carpet in the Emerald City.

Before Hayley Atwell returns as 1940’s Agent Peggy Carter she’s promoting her role as a muse to Jimi Hendrix in the swinging 60’s.

 

Atwell (Marvel’s Agent Carter, Captain America films) appeared at the Seattle International Film Festival Opening Night event tonight.

 

Atwell stars in the Opening Night Film: Jimi: All Is By My Side. Atwell  joined director John Ridley for gala event screening. The film is based on Jimi Hendix’s pre-fame years in London. André Benjamin plays Hendrix. The film features more stars of sci-fi including Burn Gorman of Torchwood and Ruth Negga (Rayna) of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Clark Gregg manages to fight evil Hydra agents and super villains on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and write and direct his own film.

 

The Seattle International Film Festival just revealed a surprise addition to the 2014 lineup.  SIFF favorite Clark Gregg will return to Seattle with Trust Me, a “biting satire about life in Hollywood and the struggle to keep dreams of greatness alive.”

 

Gregg plays Agent Phil Coulson on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and in The Avengers and is a frequent collaborator with Joss Whedon. Gregg brought his directorial debut, Choke, to SIFF 2008 after winning the Special Jury Prize for Ensemble Cast at the Sundance Film Festival.
