Wolverine’s legacy lives on with a fearsome foursome.

Announced at New York Comic Con – Wolverines is a new ongoing weekly series by Charles Soule (Death of Wolverine, The Logan Legacy, The Weapon X Program) Ray Fawkes (The Logan Legacy) and artist Nick Bradshaw (Wolverine and the X-Men).

Mystique, Sabretooth, Daken and X-23 will assemble to investigate Logan’s death.

“The group here is not a set of people who are particularly interested in doing anything together unless they absolutely have to. I would suggest that folks check out both The Logan Legacy and The Weapon X Project, the two “bridge” series between Death of Wolverine and the Wolverines weekly. Death of Wolverine #4 and Death of Wolverine: The Logan Legacy #1 (of 7) by Charles Soule both arrive this week.

Newly Marvel exclusive Soule is not through with the X-Man.

At the New York Comic Con Death of Wolverine panel Marvel announced a new Wolverines series by Soule Ray Fawkes and artist Nick Bradshaw.

In the wake of Logan’s demise Soule will explore more secrets of the covert military operation that turned the X-Man from mutant to weapon.

“Barry Windsor-Smith’s “Weapon X” book was one of the primary influences for this project and I think Weapon X as a concept is fascinating. The end of an X-Man begins in Death of Wolverine #1.

Logan lost his mutant healing factor. The once-immortal mutant is on his final adventure starting this Wednesday.

Writer Charles Soule and artist Steve McNiven are the team behind the X-Man’s last battle.

“The cover for #1 really developed from Steve’s interpretation of some earlier ideas we were kicking around—like the silhouettes he mentions—bringing more of the specific story of this issue into it. Each part of the Death of Wolverine has a different location and even genre, to an extent, and the covers came to reflect each of those impressions in a very cool way.
