Captain America: The Winter Soldier is almost here. The latest adventure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe pits Steve Rogers against ruthless new enemies and a conspiracy within S.H.I.E.L.D. Here’s what you need to know to catch up and be ready for the sequel:

 

Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) was a skinny kid from Brooklyn with a big heart, sense of honor and desire to serve his country in World War II. Given the code name Captain America – Steve would defeat the Red Skull’s Hydra invasion but with a price. Steve crashed the Hydra plane into the ice and would be frozen in time.  Steve was revived by S.H.I.EL.D. and would lead Earth’s Mightiest Heroes against an alien invasion in The Avengers. Alexander’s Marvelous Make-A-Wish Day

Alexander is small but courageous with mighty dreams. The six-year-old boy from Everett, Washington lives with cystic fibrosis. Alexander fights this life threatening condition but for one day he had an adventure to take his mind of his illness.

 

Alexander got a hero’s salute this weekend thanks to Make-A-Wish volunteers and members of Comic Book Characters For Causes. I couldn’t believe it when I read it back in New Avengers. Doctor Strange and Tony Stark turned on Captain America – wiping his memory and kicked him out of the Illuminati – Marvel’s secret cabal of heroes trying to save our universe…no matter the cost.

 

It’s one of the biggest story elements from Jonathan Hickman’s first year on Avengers and New Avengers. Now it all comes back to Steve as Original Sin shakes the Marvel Universe.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER World Premiere Clip

Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson walked the red carpet for the World Premiere of Captain America: The Winter Soldier in Hollywood.

 

Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Colbie Smulders, Frank Grillo and cast members from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. also were greeted by fans.

 

Emily Van Camp (Revenge) was at the event but so far no clips of her character, Sharon Carter aka Agent 13, love interest of Steve Rogers.

 

Captain America (Evans) and Falcon (Mackie) leap and soar into action in this new clip shown at the red carpet premiere of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
