Fox unveils the first television spot for X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Featuring the voice of Professor Xavier (Patrick Stewart) the spot shows the apocalyptic future in which mutants are in a losing war with robots called Sentinels.

The story is based on the classic story by Chris Claremont in which the X-Men of the future send one of their own into the past to change destiny.

With plenty of action from new mutants (Blink, Sunspot) and favorites like Wolverine here’s the spot:

X-MEN Children of Diversity!

Are you still recovering from the first trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past. The Bryan Singer directed film unites the casts of First Class and the original X- trilogy. The trailer was exciting, emotional and shows why X-Men are still the best representation of diversity in comics.

What a thrill to see Bishop, Warpath, Sunspot and Blink join the cinematic cast of X-Men. The Children of the Atom represent diversity and overcoming differences. These heroes don’t just fight bad guys. They fight discrimination and intolerance.

When Stan Lee created X-Men #1 his young heroes had powers because of genetics. You could say Continue reading X-MEN Children of Diversity!

As you recover from the astonishing trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past and recent news by director Bryan Singer about new mutants in the film you may wondering:

Who’s That?

Singer confirmed via Twitter ahead that Warpath, Sunspot and Ink will appear in the movie joining the previously announced Bishop, Quicksilver and Blink.

At :38 in the trailer you see shots of Bishop, Sunspot, Warpath and Blink in what looks like the dark future in which the cast of the original X trilogy are fighting to survive. Continue reading New Mutants of X-MEN DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Doctor Who: David, Rose, Martha and Donna

The new Doctor Who evolution blasted off with David Tennant taking over the role. Steely yet cheeky. Tennant’s Time Lord could be a powerhouse menace against any invader who dared to threaten Earth or tear our hearts out as he crumbled over the loss of a loved one (like a companion or genetically created daughter.)

In Season Two Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) continued her journeys with the Doctor until the heartbreaking goodbye after a Dalek/Cybermen conflict in Doomsday.  Dr. Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman) would pine away for the Doctor for one season before Donna Noble (Catherine Tate) matched wits with Tennant for the final season. Tennant and Tate were an amazing team with perfect comic timing – essential for a Time Lord!

One of my favorite Doctor and Rose adventures was Continue reading Doctor Who: David, Rose, Martha and Donna

Director Bryan Singer revealed a new character and casting addition for X-Men: Days of Future Past via Twitter. Fan BingBing will play Blink according to Deadline.

Blink is a teleporter created in Uncanny X-Men #317 and just when you thought Clarice Ferguson would go on to be part of Generation X but she died in the Phalanx Covenant storyline.

I’ve often said Blink is the James Dean of X-Men. Clarice was immediately popular but was killed off Continue reading Blink in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST
