  Psylocke Versus Black Widow! Marvel kicked off Monday with a fanboy teaser image by Leinil Francis Yu sure to light a fiery debate!

  Today on Marvel.com this image is hailed as Avengers Versus X-Men: Round One. The X-Men’s psychic ninja set to battle the most dangerous secret agent in the Marvel universe.  

  Betsy Braddock is a skilled ninja fighter with telepathic powers. Psylocke demonstrated she can be deadly if necessary as seen in the Uncanny X-Force:The Dark Angel Saga finale.

  Natasha Romanoff was trained by the KGB, recruited by Nick Fury for SHIELD and has held her own alongside Earth’s Mightiest Heroes on The Avengers.

  Watching Captain America: The First Avenger again made me long for a possible modern sequel featuring The Winter Soldier storyline. Until then Marvel is giving us The Winter Soldier in his own series. The February debuting tile delivers the essential 4 B’s: Brubaker, Butch, Bucky and Black Widow.

  Robot 6 has the exclusive preview with more images but I wanted to share them. Ed Brubaker teams with Butch Guice on a new series starring Bucky Barnes and Natasha Romanoff with Nick Fury as a supporting character. Russian sleeper agents awaken and the deadly duo could be facing an army of ‘Winter Soldiers.’

  An international trailer for The Avengers features the Black Widow working her wiles on Bruce Banner.

Earlier this month Scarlett Johansson talked about the Widow’s great story in The Avengers and her hopes for a solo movie.

With Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye and Nick Fury assembled for the big screen version of The Avengers how much will we see Black Widow?

“The Widow has a great story. I think Joss did a brilliant job of weaving together all of these characters storylines. It is no small feat for him.” Scarlett Johansson told MTV News.

“I love the Widow. I think she’s got an interesting journey,” the actress continued, “We get gritty. We get real gritty in this.”

  Earlier Scarlett Johansson said she was ready for a Black Widow solo movie given the Widow’s history. Johansson said there’s no word yet on if she will be part of Iron Man #3.

  The Black Widow goes solo in Secret Avengers #20. Writer Warren Ellis weaves a tale in which her teammates are dead and Natasha is trapped in the past with the chance to save them.
