Like Robert Downey, Jr. playing Tony Stark – casting is key! You need an actor with charm, charisma who can make dark magic believable.

Doctor Stephen Strange was a brilliant, rich, arrogant surgeon who injures his hands in a freak accident. When the Doctor can no longer practice medicine he goes Continue reading Casting DOCTOR STRANGE

As I watched the big screen trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness right before Iron Man 3 this weekend I immediately thought John Harrison (Benedict Cumberbatch) is working with the Klingons!

The Federation’s greatest enemy (of the original Star Trek series) were developed but cut from J.J. Abrams first film.

At the Star Trek Into Darkness London premiere Damon Lindelof appears to confirm the inclusion of the alien warriors in the upcoming film and in a possible third movie:

“You can never see enough Klingons, and I think in this film we’ve given the audience a little taste, but there’s also a promise that Continue reading Klingons in STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS and Beyond?

DAREDEVIL Dream Casting

Daredevil #117 courtesy Marvel

With the movie rights to Daredevil back at Marvel Disney I revisited my dream cast for a Daredevil film!

Ryan Gosling as Matt Murdock/Daredevil – Gosling would be perfect as the public defender from New York’s most brutal streets who fights crime by night as the masked vigilante.

Vin Diesel as Kingpin – smooth, cool and oozing menace in a sharp suit and when the finally unleashes his raw power in a fight – watch out!

Zachary Quinto as Bullseye – after 2 seasons of American Horror Story and his explosive moments when Spock lets his emotions loose in Star Trek proves Continue reading DAREDEVIL Dream Casting

STAR TREK: INTO DARKNESS Super Bowl Super Clue?

The Star Trek: Into Darkness Super Bowl trailer fueled the fire over the Khan rumors! The action packed spot featured an interrogation between John Harrison (Benedict Cumberbatch) to Captain Kirk (Chris Pine)

“I’m better.”

“At what?”

“Everything.”

This exchange certainly sounds like Kirk debating with an arrogant, genetically enhanced villain with a “superior intellect.”

Paramount will screen the sequel on IMAX screens two days early according The Hollywood Reporter. Fans can boldly see Star Trek Into Darkness on select IMAX screens starting May 15th.

STAR TREK: INTO DARKNESS Picture Names Villain

After seeing the new Star Trek: Into Darkness trailer you think Benedict Cumberbatch is playing…Khan? Gary Seven?

Paramount Pictures revealed this new photo today with the caption stating Cumberbatch is playing…John Harrison?

Fascinating.

The villain is locked in what appears to be a brig. Is Harrison a human? Could the new Trek film explore genetic cloning – is he a super human? an alien hybrid?

Thanks to the excellent and thorough StarTrek.com – a great source for all things Trek.

STAR TREK: INTO DARKNESS Poster Revealed

Star Trek: Into Darkness courtesy Paramount Pictures

The first poster for Star Trek: Into Darkness is out! Paramount Pictures tweeted the teaser!

No Kirk. No Spock. No Enterprise.

The poster does show Benedict Cumberbatch (he plays the villain) surveying the ruins of an Earth city or is it Starfleet HQ. Some bloggers have said the city is London given the similarities to specific landmarks in the British capital – good eye IGN. The villain is walking through a blast zone that is in the shape of the Starfleet insignia.

The villain is sporting a Neo (from The Matrix) style look. Speculation about Cumberbatch’s role has run from Khan to Gary Seven. The teaser does have a look similar to The Dark Knight Rises.

Here’s the official synopsis:

“When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis.

With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.

As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.”

What do you think? I personally think it’s cool that it doesn’t look like a typical Star Trek movie poster. JJ Abrams make Trek cool again with respecting the legacy without being chained to it – warp speed!

The trailer is about to debut in about 2 weeks.
