What many fans calling the ultimate Joker story will become an animated movie.

DC Entertainment/Warner Bros. revealed the three DC Universe Original Movies coming in 2016, including an adaptation of the classic, Batman: The Killing Joke.

The big news followed a world premiere at San Diego Comic-Con with Bruce Timm’s latest animated movie, Justice League: Gods and Monsters, featuring Timm’s radical new take on Justice League icons.

Batman: The Killing Joke is the classic graphic novel written by Alan Moore and drawn by Brian Bolland with a potential (but not exactly trustworthy) origin for the Joker. This is the story that led to a paralyzed Barbara Gordon to retire as Batgirl…temporarily. Continue reading BATMAN: THE KILLING JOKE Animated Movie

The casts and crews of Arrow and The Flash including Grant Gustin are saying it’s time for a gay superhero on television in a new story on The Advocate.

The Flash recently introduced openly gay villain Pied Piper and Sara Lance/Black Canary was bisexual (in love with Nyssa Al Ghul) on Arrow. Sara died this season but the actress who played her will appear in an Arrow/Flash spinoff featuring a team of heroes. Detective Renee Montoya (who became the Question in comics) is part of Gotham.

Which GLBT hero could join the small screen lineup or headline their own show? Let’s keep it to DC heroes who could join the expanding DC Universe on television: Continue reading GAY SUPERHERO on TV? 4 For Your Consideration

An exciting new year for fans of women of the Batman family. Here are some highlights of DC’s books coming in January starring the bad and beautiful women of Gotham City.

My favorite cover is for Harley Quinn #2 by Amanda Conner. In the second chapter Harley and Poison Ivy team up to save…puppies and kittens? Conner and co-writer Jimmy Palmiotti bring the mad fun to caper that’s sure to wrong.

Batgirl #27 and Catwoman #27 are tie-ins to Gothtopia, John Layman’s final arc of Detective Comics. Knightfall, one of my favorite new villains from Gail Simone’s first arc is back to finish what she started – killing Jim Gordon. Continue reading The WOMEN Of BATMAN Previews
