The Marvel Universe ends.

Now in Secret Wars event there is only Battleworld, with heroes and villains from across multiple Marvel universes fighting in Warzones. It’s a bizarre new reality with strange alliances and the stage is set for some insane fights.

This week Secret Wars: Battleworld, a tie-in limited series begins with outrageous match-ups where the impossible (even for comics) becomes possible.

CAPTAIN MARVEL & CAROL CORPS In BATTLEWORLD

Captain Marvel goes to war.

Carol Danvers will lead a strike force over the skies of Battleworld in a new Secret Wars: Warzones book.

Marvel announced Captain Marvel and the Carol Corps by writers Kelly Sue DeConnick, Kelly Thompson and artist David Lopez.

The book introduces a new Captain Marvel. In the birth of Battleworld a new Marvel reality and Carol Danvers emerges.

“This is our Carol if the situation had been different,” DeConnick told Marvel.com. “She comes from a different world, but her personality traits are essentially the same.”

“All the core stuff is the same,” Thompson added. “She’s got powers. She’s a hero. She’s a pilot. I think that is one of the things I find most interesting about [this series] actually. INHUMANS ATTILAN RISING

When Secret Wars hits Battleworld is born.

The Inhumans are in the heart of the conflict in Inhumans: Attilan Rising by Charles Soule (Inhuman, Uncanny Inhumans) and artist John Timms.
“One of the ideas behind ATTILAN RISING from the start was to put Medusa, Black Bolt, Reader, Iso, and other characters from INHUMAN into a new context,” Soule told Marvel.com. “That’s part of the fun of an event like Secret Wars. Things don’t have to be the way we’re used to seeing them.

“My initial concept was ‘life during wartime,’ looking at the Inhumans from almost a World War 2 French Resistance type of angle. The relationships we’re used to seeing will be different in this story. Look At The SECRET WARS BATTLEWORLD MAP

Marvel reveals the map of Battleworld from the upcoming Secret Wars event of 2015.

After multiple teasers of multiple classic storylines, events and alternate worlds – Marvel revealed the new Battleworld as the setting for the new Secret Wars.

It’s the culmination of Jonathan Hickman’s epic 2 year+ Avengers, New Avengers run. After attempting to save Earth from “incursions” from other Earths in rival dimensions do our heroes fail?  Is this event the result of “Everything Ends.”

You can see the domain of Apocalypse (from the Age of Apocalypse epic) and The Monarchy of M (from House of M event) plus some surprises “nations” like New Quack City – a reference to Duckworld – home of Howard the Duck?

Marvel recruited one of the greatest cover artists for their huge 2015 event and here’s a look at the cover of Secret Wars #1 by Alex Ross (Marvels, Earth X, Kingdom Come).

Jonathan Hickan and artist Esad Ribic are the creative team on the eight-part epic that follows Time Runs Out in Avengers and New Avengers.

SECRETS WARS MARVEL Teaser Reveal New BATTLEWORLD

It began with a teaser for a brand new Secret Wars by Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribic with a spectacular image by Alex Ross.

What followed what an onslaught of Summer 2015 teasers hinting of revisits to classic stories and events like Planet Hulk, Age of Apocalypse, Armor Wars, Civil War and House of M.

This week came the Everything Ends teaser for Spring 2015 implying a big bang ending and rebirth.

Now we know the story behind the teasers is here.

As Hickman counts down to the finale of Avengers, New Avengers: Time Runs Out – it sure looks like the heroes fail to stop incursions from rival Earths destroying the Marvel 616 homeworld – leading to the birth of a big new epic.
