Scarlet Witch Va Va Manara!

Uncanny Avengers #2 courtesy Marvel

I can forgive anything when it comes to Wanda. Even the Decimation of the mutant race. To borrow a Kelly Clarkson song she is a “Beautiful Disaster.”

The Scarlet Witch is on a path to redemption in Rick Remender and John Cassaday’s Uncanny Avengers this September. The team of Avengers and X-Men will take on a reborn Red Skull.

Legendary Italian artist Milo Manara created this volumptous variant to Uncanny Avengers #2 featuring the bewitching mutant with hex power courtesy Marvel.com.

I feel hopelessly in love with Scarlet Witch in the Avengers era by David Micheline and John Byrne. Remember when she was possessed by Chthon on Wundagore Mountain? Hope Wanda holds it together for a while.

Given how Rick Remender writes Psylocke I’m excited to see how he will write Wanda.

Fantastic Four Payback

FF #1 courtesy Marvel

Matt Fraction is sending the Fantastic Four into space and forming a new FF to hold down the fort here on Earth in the Marvel NOW relaunch. One member is planning some serious payback against Doctor Doom but it’s not who you think.

Scott Lang aka Ant-Man (along with Medusa, She-Hulk and She-Thing) are the new FF lineup. Fraction tells Comics Newsarama he’ll follow through on a tragic moment from Avengers: The Children Crusade.

 SPOILER WARNING:

IF YOU HAVEN’T READ AVENGERS: THE CHILDREN’S CRUSADE (READ IT- I LOVE THIS STORY!) THEN YOU MAY WANT TO STOP NOW.

 SERIOUSLY.

 HERE IT COMES.

 OK.

FF #1 courtesy Marvel

“Doom killed Scott’s daughter. There’s no other way to put it, there’s no other way to phrase it, there’s no skirting around the issue. Because of his actions, Doctor Doom killed Cassie Lang. What this book is going to be about is Scott and his replacement Four, and the Future Foundation, aiming their resources right at Doctor Doom. The premise he presents to the Future Foundation is “End Doom.” And not just kill him, but eliminate him from human memory. That would be worse for Doom than dying. And that’s the payback that Scott ultimately wants.

This is their macro arc, this is their reason to being, this is their constant through line: “Let’s remove Doom from the equation of life on Earth, and see what happens.” But concurrent to that, every FF villain that ever was comes out of the woodwork, gunning for these imposters, thinking now’s their time to take their shot. So you’ve got these people who have not been the Fantastic Four longer than 10 minutes having to fight off all of the latest and greatest versions of the characters you know and love the most. Whereas Fantastic Four is constant new stuff and new places we’ve not been before, FF is the greatest hits performed by a brand-new band.”

For Fraction’s entire interview here’s the Comics Newsarama link.

Cassie Lang aka Stature courtesy Marvel

I LOVE the Young Avengers. Scott was killed by the Scarlet Witch (kinda) in Avengers Disassembled. The amazing and inspiring Cassie carried on her father’s legacy as Stature in Young Avengers. The time twisting events of Avengers: Children’s Crusade led to a brief, heartwarming and heartbreaking reunion between father and daughter. I’m thrilled that Fraction will continue Scott’s story. Hurt Doom, hurt him bad!

This is Cassie by Young Avengers artist Jim Cheung. Hope Marvel will have Cheung create a variant for this story.

Anna Kendrick, Imogene Poots and Felicity Jones are reportedly in the running for the role according to the New York Post.

Anthony Mackie will play Sam Wilson aka the Falcon. Sebastian Stan will reprise his role as Bucky. To find out more about his role click here but warning! There by spoilers!

Professor X Joins Avengers vs. X-Men

Avengers vs. X-Men #11 courtesy Marvel

Professor Charles Xavier is a refined badass. He’s been patient. He’s tried to support and understood the actions of this prize student. It’s time for Professor X to get into the war. Time to go all psi-war on the Phoenix Force!

Comics Newsarama has a first look at interior art for Avengers vs. X-Men #11 by Olivier Coipel. Professor X and Storm join forces with Captain America, the Avengers and Hope against the Phoenix Two: Cyclops and Emma Frost.

Brian Michael Bendis will script this penultimate issue of the epic conflict. I felt Bendis really captured Professor X’s anguish and anger in last week’s New Avengers #29 and this week’s Avengers #29.

With the announcement of a new X-Men Legacy relaunch starring the Professor’s son, Legion, could this mean Charles will make the ultimate sacrifice to stop the student who is more like a son?

What if Charles must destroy Scott? Here’s my theory of what might happen to Miss Emma Frost after AvX!

Vin Diesel as Vision in Avengers Sequel?

Avengers Origins: Vision courtesy Marvel.

This is just a rumor…

Vin Diesel as the Vision in Avengers 2? Images of the the android have been posted on the actor’s Facebook page according to ComicBook.com which has fans and bloggers speculating so I thought I’d sound off.

I can picture Diesel as Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy…maybe even as Thanos.

After seeing Prometheus my vision for the Vision is Michael Fassbender.

I’m just glad it’s in Joss Whedon’s hands.
