Blade was the first successful Marvel character to hit the big screen but when will fans see another African-American in the leading role of a superhero movie?

Black Panther is one of the greatest and most important heroes in the Marvel Universe with ties to Avengers, Fantastic Four and he’s the former husband of Storm of the X-Men. While promoting Thor: The Dark World, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige was asked about T’Challa.

“In terms of Black Panther, it’s absolutely in development,” Feige told BlackTree TV  “When you have something as rich as Wakanda and his backstory — and clearly Vibranium’s been introduced in the universe already — I don’t know when it will be exactly, but we certainly have plans to bring him to life some day.” Continue reading Black Panther Movie Update

Two new tie-in chapters in the space opera Infinity arrived this week. I’ve loved the Avengers and New Avengers tie-ins. Reading them is like experience a director’s cut with extended scenes that enhance the overall story.

After a cheer-inducing (I know I yelled “YEAH!” when Thor hammered the enemy) and decisive victory against the Builders in Infinity #4 the war is far from over. Jonathan Hickman and Leinil Francis Yu pick up with war against the galaxy: a rebellion among the Kree, references to the Spaceknights and Annihilation as Captain America unleashes a desperate gambit to win the war…and fails. The latest Marvel teaser is GLOBAL by Jonathan Hickman, Nick Spencer and Stefano Caselli.

Could this be a NEW Avengers series?

The first All-New Marvel Now announcement revealed Hickman’s next Avengers arc is called Rogue Planet so this could be a companion book tied to it.

Jonathan Hickman declared Earth was an Avengers World in his first arc.

Spencer was recruited to co-write the Avengers prelude to Infinity issues. Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are currently fighting aliens in space while the Illuminati fight Thanos and incursions in the pages of New Avengers, also by Hickman. Continue reading Marvel Takes Hickman GLOBAL
