The daughter of Ra’s Al Ghul will storm Starling City on The CW hit Arrow.

It’s not Talia, the lover turned enemy of Bruce Wayne in the Batman comic book and in The Dark Knight Rises.

Katrina Law (Spartacus, Chuck) will play Talia’s half-sister Nyssa according to TV Guide. On the series, Nyssa will be a member of the League of Assassins hunting for Black Canary (Caity Lotz.)

DC Comics bad guys just keep coming to The CW hit ARROW. Here’s a first look at Bronze Tiger appearing in season two courtesy TV Guide. Michael Jai White (Spawn) joins the cast in episode two.

“He’s basically the best of the best, so he has come to Starling City to see if the Hood can give him a challenge,” Continue reading Bronze Tiger on ARROW

Will Batman’s great immortal enemy be the major villain on The CW’s Arrow? Episode 5 of Season Two is called The Demon’s Head according to GreenArrow.net and “will feature a character called Awwal who is a Dark Archer, trained by Merlyn. He is after Lisa.”

The Demon’s Head is the translation of Ra’s Al Ghul, leader of the League of Assassins in Batman mythology. Liam Neeson played Ra’s Al Ghul in The Dark Knight Trilogy but there were no demonic references. Continue reading Ra’s Al Ghul on ARROW?

New GREEN ARROW Villain!

Arrow is a smash in Starling City on The CW. The Green Arrow comic book is set in my Emerald City, Seattle. In this week’s Green Arrow #17 new creative team Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino took over the book. The Kill Machine Part 1 ended with a violent double shocker for the Emerald Archer. Oliver Queen has lost his fortune and father’s firm. As Ollie confronted the man accused of ruining his father’s legacy… Continue reading New GREEN ARROW Villain!

Teen Wolf Star Joins ARROW

Producers of The CW hit Arrow are adding another DC comics icon to the hit series! TV Guide reports Colton Haynes of MTV’s Teen Wolf will join the series as Roy Harper.     Green Arrow fans know Harper is Ollie’s sidekick Speedy. The young marksmen was created in 1941 and in the 1970’s became a drug addict and source of frustration for his mentor. Harper grew up to become Arsenal of the Titans and went by the code name Red Arrow as a member of the Justice League.

In the DC Comics New 52 Harper is using the code name Arsenal again as a member of Red Hood and the Outlaws.

On Arrow Harper will be a love interest for Thea (Willa Holland) who goes by Speedy on the series.

Did producers hit the bullseye on this casting? Should  be go by Speedy or skip to Arsenal?

Doctor Who Star’s ARROW Role Revealed

courtesy The CW

John Barrowman (Doctor Who, Torchwood) is one of the many scif-fi genre favorites (Tahmoh Penikett, Ben Browder, Kelly Hu, Seth Gabel) to guest star on The CW’s Arrow. Now we know who Barrowman is playing so I better give you this…

SPOILER WARNING!

IF YOU DIDN’T SEE LAST WEEK’S ARROW YOU WANT NOT WANT TO KEEP READING!

OK – HERE IS IS:

Barrowman is playing Malcolm Merlyn – father of Tommy, Oliver Queen’s best friend. Will Malcolm or Tommy evolve into infamous Green Arrow villain Merlyn?

“We start off in the pilot with Tommy being … a little bit suspicious [of Oliver], and we haven’t seen that [since],” Amell tells TV Line, “And one of the things I like about this episode is… if he wereeventually going down a darker path, this is a nice way to sort of push a character in one direction.”

“He’s certainly the most nefarious character we’ve met so far,” Amell says of Malcom. “We don’t know a ton about him, just that whatever that symbol means in [Robert Queen’s] book, and however that list was constructed, he’s not necessarily behind it but he’s the closest to the center we’ve gotten.

“He’s obviously the biggest threat that Oliver has,” Amell continues, “which is ironic, because they’ve never come together. So far.”

Tonight’s Arrow continues the storyline with Helena/Huntress.

Manu Bennett (Spartacus) is joining the show as Deathstroke in an upcoming episode.

Huntress Hits ARROW

courtesy The CW

One of my favorite DC Comics heroines hits Arrow on The CW this week! DC Comics Creative Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns will pen the episode titled Muse of Fire.

“I’m thrilled to be writing this episode of ARROW, and while I can’t give too much away, I think comic fans are going to like what we have in store for them – keep an eye out for the Huntress,” Johns tells The Source.
Jessica De Gouw will play Helena Bertinelli aka the Huntress. In the comics Bertinelli is the daughter of a murdered mafia boss out for revenge when her family is wiped out. Helena continues her crime fighting career as a member of the Birds of Prey and as a member of the Batman family.

Here’s the official character description from The CW:

“Helena is a potential love interest for Oliver Queen; a fellow vigilante, set on destroying her father’s organized crime empire. But Helena’s blind pursuit of revenge will put her on a collision course with the Arrow.”

Here’s what the actress told IGN about playing the heroine:

“It’s challenging for me because I play Helena and the Huntress and I have to be able to hold my own regarding the duality of the role,” De Gouw continued. “And I have to be able to kick butt and all of that. And I’m quite feminine in my normal every day life, so the fighting and all of that is new and interesting for me. But it’s good. I’m really enjoying it. I’ve really been thrust into it so you might as well just jump in, right?”

I’m thrilled to see Huntress on television and hope she may appear in a Batman movie some day.
