Jessica Jones is back in a new ongoing when the Marvel Now arrives.

The wait is over as fan-favorite creator Brian Michael Bendis returns to one of the important characters created during his Marvel reign.

Jones first appeared in the Alias 15 years ago then became a mother, married Luke Cage and returned to her super hero roots in the New Avengers run – all by Bendis. Continue reading JESSICA JONES Reunion Return

Continuum Season Two begins on the SyFy Channel this Friday, June 7th. Here’s a sneak peek at the exciting new season from two of the stars:

Rachel Nichols (Star Trek, Alias, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) plays Kiera Cameron, a police officer for a corporate run law enforcement organization in 2077. Kiera has been torn from her family and thrust into our time along with a fanatic group of terrorists from her future.

SPOILERS from Season One!

In the shocking season one finale we learned Alec grows up to the corporate overlord who is ultimately responsible for Kiera being trapped in the past and losing her family.

Earlier this year at Fan Expo Vancouver – Nichols and Knudsen told me how the future revelation affects their characters bond and sets the drama for the new season.

The cast of the hit sci-fi show Continuum made a special appearance at Fan Expo Vancouver 2013. Fans of the show set and filmed in Vancouver enjoyed a chance to ask burning questions of the time twisting crime drama.

Rachel Nichols plays Kiera Cameron, a police officer for a corporate run law enforcement organization in Vancouver in 2077.  The dedicated officer is torn from her family when she’s thrust into the year 2012 along with a fanatic group of terrorists from her time period.

Erik Knudsen plays Alec Sadler the young computer guru who helps her in the present day but could be destined for a dark future. In the shocking season one finale we learned Alec grows up to the corporate overlord who is ultimately responsible for Kieran losing her family.

Nichols and Knudsen told me how the future revelation affects their characters bond and sets the drama for season two.

From ALIAS to ARROW Villain

courtesy The CW

David Anders will play a brand new villain on The CW’s Arrow according to Zap2It. Anders will play Cyrus Vanch – a career criminal released from prison who returns to his evil ways in Starling City.

You may have seen Anders on Once Upon a Time and The Vampire Diaries but I will always love him from the J.J. Abrams spy drama Alias. Anders played the sinister and smarmy Julian Sark. I was among a group of Alias addicts who got to meet the charming actor while promoting a charity event.

Anders is the latest actor from the sci-fi/fantasy genre to join the series. Ben Browder, John Barrowman, Tahmoh Penikett and Seth Gabel will be guest starring on the series. This week the DC vigilante Huntress (played by Jessica De Gouw) comes to Starling City.

Hulk TV Show

As I watched the ABC Up Front today I sighed (well I already got a presser so I knew) that there would not be a superhero show on the fall lineup. The ABC Network is not picking up a series AKA Jessica Jones based on Alias by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos. The pilot featured Jessica, Luke Cage and references to Tony Stark.

A Hulk television series in still in development for the 2013 season said ABC Entertainment President Paul Lee. A Hulk project with Guierllmo Del Toro and David Eick was announced in 2012.

One show I was excited about was 666 Park Avenue starring Terry O’Quinn of Lost. My impression was you could call this a hybrid of The Shining, Needful Things and Rosemary’s Baby. The concept is a young couple is hired to be managers of an ritzy Manhattan apartment building owned by the Devil?

Rachel Nichols at Fan Expo Vancouver

She was “Scarlett” in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and Green as a Orion who hooks up with Chris Pine’s Kirk in Star Trek. Rachel Nichols has just been added to Fan Expo Vancouver, the city’s first major comicon. Nichols appears on Continuum and I remember loving her as a rookie spy on the final season of Alias.

Valentine’s Day – Great Comic Book Gifts of Love

Young Romance: The Best of Simon and Kirby’s Romance Comics The men who created Captain America also created the romance comics genre! Fantagraphics collects all the love, schemes, heartbreaks and makeups of the classic comics of a bygone era.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix Saga A woman, two men that love her and the most powerful destructive force in the universe. The tragic heroine Jean Grey fighting a losing battle to control the darkness within her. Cyclops and Wolverine were the two men who’d take on the universe to save her. This is the ultimate X-Men story and one of the most cosmic love stories in comics.

Astonishing X-Men Omnibus This is must pick for two great love stories. Scott Summers and Emma Frost. The stoic leader of the X-Men slowly fell for the ice-cold bad girl turned ally. Kitty Pryde and Peter Rasputin. Not even death could keep them apart. Colossus came back from the dead and finally had sex with his beloved “Katya.” This is Joss Whedon’s romantic, thrilling and game changing X-Men era in one huge collection with stunning art by John Cassady.

New Avengers Annual #1

Jessica Jones and Luke Cage Marvel’s coolest couple is former hero Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. Ex-superhero turned private investigator Jessica was introduced in the series Alias by Brian Michael Bendis. Former Hero for Hire Luke Cage was her love interest. When Bendis revamped the Avengers, Captain America recruited Luke and Jessica and their baby moved into Avengers HQ. The couple married in the beautiful New Avengers Annual #1. Luke has unbreakable skin but the tough guy went all soft and romantic for the troubled ex-heroine. AKA Jessica Jones based on Alias is in a television pilot stage and could become an ABC series.

Rick Jones and Marlo Chandler this may be an odd choice but I love against all odds love stories. During Peter David’s classic run on The Incredible Hulk he eventually merged Bruce and the Hulk into one being. Rick was the Hulk’s sidekick. Marlo was the Hulk’s girlfriend in Las Vegas back when he was grey and a mob enforcer named Joe Fix-It. Marlo later became best friends with Betty Banner and fell in love with Rick. Not even death could keep them apart. After Marlo’s resurrection they couple were married in Incredible Hulk #418 in a sweet but hilarious cameo filled ceremony.
