A big week for two of Marvel’s most beloved female heroes and the two women behind those characters.

Writers Tara Butters and Michelle Fazekas celebrate the start of the second season of Agent Carter and the launch of a new volume of Captain Marvel. They recruited the women behind the acclaimed Agent Carter television series.

Butters and Fazekas take over the new adventures of Carol Danvers after the departure of Kelly Sue DeConnick who transformation Ms. Marvel to Captain Marvel, inspiring the Carol Corps fan movement.

AGENT CARTER Meets MADAME MASQUE

Peggy Carter faces a new adversary in season two of Marvel’s Agent Carter.

Peggy and Jarvis go west in a new adventure in Hollywood. Whitney Frost is one of the new characters. A name that’s chilling for Iron Man and Avengers readers.

Here’s a look at Hayley Atwell as Peggy and Wynn Everett as Frost in new photos courtesy Marvel.

Frost is more infamously known as Madame Masque in the comics. She was born Giuletta Nefaria, daughter of criminal mastermind Count Nefaria of the Maggia (the Marvel Universe version of the Mafia) but was given to the wealthy Frost family and renamed Whitney because her father wanted a better life for his child. Marvel shared a first look at Hayley Atwell from the set of Agent Carter Season Two and set the date for her return.

Peggy Carter will relocate to Los Angeles when the series returns in 2016.

Marvel previously announced Carter will face the Secret Empire, The Maggia, Madame Masque and the Black Widow from season one will return.

Agent Carter returns January 5th Tuesdays at 9pm on ABC.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is back on March 8th.

The mob is muscling in on Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) in her new adventures in Hollywood.

Marvel announced comedic actor Ken Marino is joining the cast of Agent Carter Season Two as Joseph Manfredi, mob boss in the Maggia crime syndicate.

The Maggia is a global crime organization in the Marvel comics universe. Silvio “Silvermane” Manfredi is one of the infamous Maggia leader who lived for decades in a cyborg body and became an longtime Spider-Man enemy. AGENT CARTER SEASON TWO New Cast Revealed

Marvel announced four actors joining the cast of Agent Carter Season Two at New York Comic Con including main villain Madame Masque and the mysterious wife of Edwin Jarvis.

Marvel Head of Television Jeph Loeb also confirmed Dominic Cooper will return as Howard Stark and Bridget Regan will be back at Dottie Underwood, the Russian spy from the Black Widow program.

“Dottie is a true match for Peggy and Bridget plays this duplicitous role so compellingly,” said Loeb.
