As we celebrate a new year it’s a perfect time to look back at the year in comic book stories with a time twist.

The bad guy (or should I say evil A.I.) wins! Age of Ultron shattered our senses with a new reality for our favorite Marvel heroes who survived the A.I. onslaught.

Elizabeth Olsen Excited To Play Scarlet Witch in AVENGERS Sequel

Elizabeth Olsen is expressing her excitement about playing Scarlet Witch in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Marvel made it official: Olsen as Wanda Maximoff and Aaron Taylor-Johnson is her brother Pietro aka Quicksilver.

 

Olsen talks about learning geek speak for the upcoming sequel and confesses she’s not a comic book reader but has a source:

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON It’s Official

After months of speculation and hints Marvel makes it official.

 

Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen are joining the cast of Avengers: Age of Ultron as Pietro and Wanda Maximoff (aka) Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. The mutant children of Magneto were introduced in the X-Men comic books as villains but reformed and joined Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Quicksilver has the power of superspeed while Scarlet Witch has a mutant “hex” power in which she can alter probabilities. Later in the comics, she studies witchcraft. Elizabeth Olsen Confirms She’s Scarlet Witch in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Elizabeth Olsen confirms she’s playing Scarlet Witch (aka Wanda Maximoff) in Avengers: Age of Ultron in new MTV News interview promoting Oldboy.

 

Oldsen plays the twin sister of Quicksilver (Pietro Maximoff) played by Kick-Ass star Aaron Taylor-Johnson – who plays Olsen’s husband in the upcoming Godzilla reboot:

 

“We get to play husband and wife, and we get to play twin brother and sister,” she said. “It’s also fun because even though in ‘Godzilla’ we play husband and wife, we don’t have a lot of scenes together. I just love him. I love his family. I love his kids. I’m so excited…to actually work with each other. KICK-ASS Star Joins AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Aaron Taylor-Johnson has officially joined the cast of Avengers: Age of Ultron according to The Wrap. The star of Kick-Ass will play Pietro Maximoff aka Quicksilver. Still no word on who will play the speedster’s twin sister Wanda aka Scarlet Witch. Elizabeth Olsen is said to be in negotiations for the role of the mutant with “hex” power.

 

The hotheaded hero is devoted to protecting his fragile but powerful sister. Quicksilver was married to Crystal of the Inhumans. They have a daughter named Luna. James Spader is ULTRON in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Marvel confirmed James Spader will play Ultron in Avengers: Age of Ultron. The Emmy-Award Winner television and film actor (The Blacklist) will play the evil artificial intelligence and the legendary enemy of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

 

Joss Whedon returns to write and direct the sequel coming in 2015. No word on if Spader will be the voice of Ultron or the portrayal. Whedon has stated the origin of Ultron will be different from the comic books.

 

Here’s my theory on who will create Ultron and I guess we can now disregard my theory on who will play him! What do you think of Spader’s casting and the theory – once you read it!
