After stealing Peter Parker’s life – Otto Octavius surrendered the body and title of Spider-Man back to Parker and sacrificed his own consciousness. Superior Spider-Man #31 was supposed to be the final issue but you can’t keep a classic villain down.
Marvel revealed Doc Ock’s story will continue in Superior Spider-Man #32, 33 by Dan Slott and Christos Gage. What happened in the missing 9 hours when Otto and Horizon Lab vanished in the finale.
“Is this an untold chapter of the past, a tale of the future, or both?” Gage said on Marvel.com.
As Editor Nick Lowe explains this issue kicks off the upcoming Spider-Verse:
“The road to the biggest Spider-Event of all time begins here. SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN finds himself in 2099, finally a time where science and intellectual advancement is at least closer to his genius. He needs to find his way home, but things get a little more complicated than that.”

Gage adds that Otto will come face to face with a Peter Parker very different from the one we know.
The Superior return hits this August.
