As we celebrate Valentine’s Day here are our picks for the hottest superhero couples now in comics:

Hottest Intergalactic Couple

Kitty Pryde and Star-Lord

Aka #StarKat as the romance had been dubbed via Twitter. After years or tortured love between Katya and Colossus, she moved on with a brief flirtation with Bobby Drake but her dating with Iceman cooled and then came Peter Quill. During The Trial of Jean Grey crossover between All-New X-Men and Guardians of the Galaxy, Quill and Kitty sparked.

As the long distance relationship developed in Legendary Star-Lord the fans cheered it on via social media. The lovers are at the heart of the current X-Men/Guardians crossover but writers Brian Bendis and Sam Humphries warn Kitty and Peter’s love may not survive The Black Vortex and it’s all up for grabs as Secret Wars destroys and restarts the Marvel Universe.

Hottest Icons

In the New 52, DC creators gave us a modern take on their classic characters. The Man of Steel was a single man again. An attraction grew between Kal El and Diana leading to a super romance and their own series.

Superman/Wonder Woman is love and adventure by Peter J. Tomasi and Doug Mahnke. The Man of Steel and Amazon Princess have saved the world from Zod and Faora while keeping their love alive. Clark even said the three words every woman would want to hear.

Readers will see a version of the Man of Steel married to Lois Lane in Convergence this year but Clark and Diana will remain DC’s power couple when the book returns in June.

Coolest Couple (in love and war)

Black Bolt and Medusa. The King and Queen of the Inhumans are the epitome of two lovers who truly, madly, deeply know each other. They can communicate volumes without a word, because he can’t. Any word uttered from Black Bolt could destroy a city so Medusa speaks for her King to her people and anyone who threatens it. It’s a love and connection so deep Medusa knows what he’s thinking through his eyes, body language and intuition.

In epic stories by Paul Jenkins, Jonathan Hickman and now Charles Soule, this power couple must put their happiness aside for the sake of their people but their intense bond brings them back always stronger than ever.

With Inhuman, Uncanny Inhumans, Attilan Rising comics coming this summer, plus Inhumans on Agents of SHIELD and a Marvel movie in 2018 – Black Bolt and Medusa may become the ultimate power couple in all multimedia.

Coolest Couple (who haven’t hooked up yet)

Batman and…?

Catwoman fans don’t break out the claws but I’m pulling for Pennyworth…Julia Pennyworth.

Selina Kyle took off the mask and took control of the Gotham City Underworld in Batman Eternal and her own solo book by Genevieve Valentine. The power play caused a rift in the already rocky romance of the hottest couple in Gotham.

Have your seen the chemistry between Julia and Bruce in Batman Eternal? Alfred’s daughter is a smart, resourceful operative with a sharp wit. The fresh face in the Batman cast could be more than Batcave backup. First Julia must survive her upcoming clash with Selina. The master spy and Queen of Gotham are heading for a showdown as Batman Eternal builds up to the big finale.

Hottest Couple (Torn apart too soon)

Storm and Logan.

Allies, teammates, teachers warriors and lovers – Ororo and Wolverine gave in to a long-simmering attraction with a passionate kiss but Logan lost his healing factor and was caught up in a conspiracy he was determined to uncover before he died.

Logan took Storm on a romantic and thrilling final date before taking off on his final adventure. While fans always think of Logan and his lost loves Mariko and Jean Grey, you can’t help but imagine what might have been if Logan had lived. It takes a strong woman like Storm to survive and who knows resurrections and against all odds romances tend to happen in comics.

Happy Valentine’s Day.
