In Storm’s solo series by Greg Pak she’s wanted for very different reason.
Ororo’s actions to help others have created a list of new enemies. Super villains and world leaders want her dead.
As Greg Pak revealed on CBR X-Position, those enemies are set to strike:
“Storm will face a foe who will strike at the heart of the identity that means the most to her. And yes, it’s someone from the past. We’ll lay out some of the themes and set the mystery in motion in the Gambit adventure in issue #9. Big payoffs in #10 and #11.”
Remy LeBeau will guest star in the next arc following Storm’s showdown with Harmon.
Remy coming to Storm’s aid could be a signal of the big villain from her past Pak teased. It all goes back to when Remy first met Ororo.
Back in Uncanny X-Men #266 Storm was back to her old ways as a thief after being transformed into a powerless child. During a heist Ororo met Gambit and the two thieves bonded. Gambit helped Storm escape the Shadow King and his hounds and later Nanny and the Orphan-Maker before the two reunited with the X-Men and he joined the team. The Shadow King (Amahl Farouk) was the first evil mutant Professor X encountered. Farouk was a crime lord in Egypt and controlled the Cairo Thieves Quarter. Young Storm tried to pick the Professor’s pocket. While he was probing the street urchin’s mind to discover her mutant power, the Shadow King struck. Storm and the evil telepathic force was have conflicts over the years with the New Mutants and even in Wakanda when she was married to Black Panther.
It could be that Storm’s army of enemies will resurrect Nanny, the mutant inventor with the power to de-age mutants, and the Orphan-Maker, her mutant enforcer in a powerhouse battle suit.
Ororo comes to Gambit’s rescue in Storm #9 on March 18.
