In Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Kylo Ren vows to finish what Darth Vader started.

This week Marvel Comics reveals a lost tale of the Dark Lord of the Sith in the first crossover of the publisher’s new line.

Vader accidentally crashes on a remote planet finding himself alone against the Rebel Fleet closing in fast. With the Sith Lord cornered, the Rebels risk all to capture him. Luke, Leia, Han, Chewbacca and a fleet of rebels and droids go in for the opportunity of a lifetime to take out their dread enemy.

But they will feel just how powerful the Dark Side of the Force is in this epic crossover.

Announced at San Diego Comic Con, Star Wars: Vader Down #1 arrives this week.

The action kicks off in this week’s standalone issue by Jason Aaron and Kieron Gillen with art by Mike Deodato and Salvador Larroca with a Mark Brooks cover.

This week’s premiere issue features a comeback. One of the variants by Chip Zdarsky (Howard the Duck) features Vader against Jaxxon. The alien who looks like a green walking rabbit was a character created for the first Star Wars comics line back in the late 70’s when the original trilogy was conquering the box office.
