Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens is the official title of the new film in the expanding universe.

StarWars.com announced the sequel’s  title following the celebration of the end of principal photography.

Stars from the original trilogy: Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker and Peter Mayhew are joined by Gwendolyn Christie, Lupita Nyong’o, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Domhnall Gleeson, Andy Serkis and Max von Sydow.

The film is set 3 decades after the destruction of the second Death Star and the Rebel Alliance’s victory near Endor.
Star Wars: Episode VII is directed by J.J.Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and Abrams. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, and John Williams returns as the composer. The movie opens worldwide on December 18, 2015.
