Sony is looking at launching a female superhero movie in 2017 according to Deadline. The studio controls the Spider-Man films rights. Sinister Six hits 2016. The Amazing Spider-Man 3 was moved to 2018.

 

Lisa Joy Nolan has been tapped to write a script with Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach producing according to the report.

 

Who from the Spider-Verse could make the big leap to the big screen?

 

Black Cat (Felicia Hardy) is the most likely suspect. Hardy was the daughter of an infamous thief. After learning the truth about her father and being a victim of rape in college, Felicia channeled her grief and anger into becoming a master thief and training in martial arts and acrobatics. Hardy was Peter Parker’s on-again, off-again love interest and evolve from criminal to anti-heroine.

 

Marvel Comics just introduced Silk, a young woman bit by the same spider that transformed Peter Parker.
