Producers are taking Star Trek 3 out of darkness and beamed up a new team of writers.
Simon Pegg (aka Chief Engineer Montgomery Scott) and Doug Jung are now writing the next sequel to follow Into Darkness according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The geek audience friendly (or beloved) actor is also known for co-writing and starring in Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The World’s End. Pegg is reprising his role as Benji Dunn in Mission Impossible 5.
Jung co-created television cop drama Dark Blue. Jung’s writing credits into Banshee, Confidence and Big Love.
The search is over following Robert Orci who was slated to write and direct the sequel.
