The X-Men’s most relentless enemies will make their big-screen debut in X-Men: Days of Future Past.

(There was an off-screen Sentinel in the Danger Room sequence from X-Men: The Last Stand. It was off-screen until Wolverine cut its head off!)

Director Bryan Singer tweeted this image and saying he can’t be at San Diego Comic Con but…

“Sorry I can’t be there – but I sent a surprise over to the Hard Rock – check it out”

This appears to be the image of a Sentinel head created by Trask Industries.

In the comics Bolivar Trask invents the mutant-hunting robots who eventually take control of North America.

In a dark future ruled by Sentinels, mutants have been hunted to near extinction. A small group of X-Men launch an ambitious plan to go in time to rewrite history. This is from the classic Chris Claremont story and basis for next year’s film.

Speculation is that Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) is playing Trask.
