Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. continues to take inspiration the comic canon of Jonathan Hickman’s Secret Warriors run.
As the series returns, we see the introduction of Slingshot (Yo-Yo Rodriguez) and Hive (a dead Grant Ward now possessed by an Inhuman entity) more Inhumans and an even closer version of the comic book squad of super-powered agents lead by the Inhuman Quake (Chloe Bennet as Skye turned Daisy).
One of our 16 geek wishes for 2016 was the introduction of more Secret Warriors on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Following up here are four Secret Warriors who who could make the leap from comics to television:
Eden Fesi aka Manifold is a Aboriginal mutant in comics but producers could change his background to an Inhuman origin like they did with Skye/Daisy. The Australian has teleportation powers like Gordon, the eyeless Inhuman who served Daisy’s mother. Hickman recruited Eden to join his expanded Avengers World cast. Manifold is a cool character that could instantly transport his fellow agents on the scene to save endangered Inhumans.
Alexander Aaron aka Phobos is a boy with the ability to generate fear in his opponents and see the future. Alexander is actually the son of Ares. The Greek God of War left the Pantheon behind for a life of peace on Earth and lived as a construction worker until mythic forces drew him back into battle and Alexander’s powers kicked in. This could be a cool way to introduce the heroes and villains of Greek mythology (Hercules, Ares have both been Avengers) from comics to Marvel’s cinematic universe.
Jerry Sledge aka Stonewall met Daisy when she bailed him out of jail for hitting a police officer. Jerry’s superstrength, ability to grow in size and have a stone like appearance is because his father is Crusher Creel, the Absorbing Man, seen in Season One.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns Tuesdays at 9 pm on ABC.
